Arsenal in early transfer bid to beat rivals to SUPER striker

His current club are seemingly doing nothing to dissuade media talk about their player and the various Arsenal transfer rumours seem to be quite sure that Arsenal are one of the club’s at the forefront of the chase for the 21-year old Argentinean striker Paulo Dybala.

But we are certainly not the only interested party by any means and the Palermo president Maurizioni Zamparini is making no bones of the fact that he is in discussions with a number of different clubs about the young star’s summer transfer, or that he is doing everything he can to maximise the price, as revealed in a report by The Mirror.

Zamparini said this week, “I’m moving ahead with negotiations.

“We’re evaluating a series of offers in a calm manner for the good of the lad’s future, we’ve got plenty of time.

“Dybala’s agent, Pierpaolo Triulzi, is a very good person. I met him in Rome and we discussed things man-to-man.

“Of course, replacing him [Dybala] will not be easy. We’re looking for players from abroad to create a stronger team than the current one.”

Palermo value Dybala at nearly £30 million but I think they realise that is a bit high for a player that has not been capped at senior level and has only scored 20 goals in his three Serie A seasons so far, even if most of them have come this season as he really burst onto the scene.

A Metro report claims that Arsene Wenger is very keen on the promising youngster, who would certainly offer the Gunners something different. The report claims that Arsenal have prepared an early bid of just over £21 million in an attempt to get the deal done quickly and avoid a summer battle with rival clubs for Dybala’s signature.

I suspect it may be a take it or leave it offer, but will Palermo accept or call our bluff and wait for a summer auction?
