Arsenal injury boost as Bellerin proves full fitness

I think Arsene Wenger would probably have preferred it if the Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin had been given a little rest by his national manager, especially after the hard running 21-year old is yet to miss a minute of football in the Premier League or Champions League campaigns this season.

After the injury scare the defender suffered towards the end of the match between Spain under 21s and San Marino last week, the most important thing for Arsenal was that Bellerin was okay and he did that in emphatic style yesterday, claiming an assist for Munir’s first goal in an impressive display.

The young Spaniard put in the sort of energetic and dynamic performance that us Gooners have got used to, and with La Rojita winning the game at a canter against Estonia I think we can be safe in the knowledge that the Arsenal man is carrying no after effects from that knock or the manager would surely not have kept him on the pitch for the whole 90 minutes.

With Carl Jenkinson still getting back to fitness after his long injury absence and Matthieu Debuchy seemingly out of favour with the boss, there is a lot of onus on Bellerin to stay fit and in form, so this performance for Spain has got to be good news.

Just how important is Bellerin to Arsenal?
