Arsenal injury news – Bellerin muscle fear, Lucas Perez boost

Everyone at Arsenal will be hoping that the late knock picked up by the young Arsenal right back Hector Bellerin in the game between the Spain under 21s and San Marino, which the Spanish comfortably won by 3-0, will not turn out to be a problem that will keep him out of action for any length of time.

As reported by the Spanish sports paper AS, the Arsenal defender had to receive treatment for a suspected muscle problem in the dying minutes of the match. Hopefully he will be fine because the Spaniard has become a key player for the Gunners and we need him to be fit for the visit of Swansea City next weekend.

Arsene Wenger has had some good news on the injury front this week though, with Metro reporting that our Spanish striker Lucas Perez, the summer transfer capture from Deportivo La Coruna, is back in training after picking up a knee injury that kept him out for the Arsenal squad for the win over Burnley.

That could be important as well, with Alexis Sanchez due back late from South America where he is on international duty with Chile. With Olivier Giroud injured or out of favour the best option for Wenger if he does want to rest the Chilean is surely Lucas, especially after he got off the mark with a double in the EFL cup win over Nottingham Forest.

Let’s hope Bellerin comes back fit and well and that Arsenal have no more injury scares in the next week or so.
