Eli Junior Kroupi was a Premier League sensation last season, and expectations were high for significant movement around him this summer, but he suffered a serious injury.
This meant he was almost forgotten after his fantastic season at Bournemouth in 2025/2026, but Arsenal have now reignited their interest in signing him.
The Gunners were among the clubs keen to add him to their squad after he showed his quality in the Premier League, and they have continued to follow him closely.
The Frenchman remains one of the top players on the continent for his age group, and Bournemouth need him back soon to help their season as he did last time.
Arsenal Renew Interest in Kroupi
Arsenal are on the verge of selling Gabriel Martinelli, with Gabriel Jesus also expected to leave the club, so there will be space for a new striker to join their team.
Kroupi has now been linked with a move to the Emirates, with iNews revealing that Arsenal want to sign him even though he is currently injured.
The Gunners could see an opportunity in signing Kroupi while he is unavailable, particularly if his injury affects his market value. His previous performances have already demonstrated the quality he can provide, making him an attractive option for Arsenal.
Kroupi Could Become Arsenal Target
Signing him while he is injured could mean adding him to the squad at the Emirates for a cheaper fee than Arsenal would originally have paid. That might be why they want to complete the deal now rather than wait for him to return to action.
Kroupi’s situation could therefore become increasingly interesting as Arsenal prepare for changes in their attack. With Martinelli on the verge of leaving and Jesus also expected to depart, the Gunners could have room for another forward.
The Frenchman’s previous campaign at Bournemouth has made him an appealing target, despite his current injury. Arsenal have continued to monitor him, and their renewed interest suggests they still believe he can become an important player for them.
For Bournemouth, losing Kroupi would be a blow, particularly as they need him back to help their own campaign. However, Arsenal’s interest could allow the youngster to join a club competing for major honours.

A “serious” injury? I think a loan with an option to buy for a low(ish) fee would be safer.

My problem with Kroupi is he’s another with no natural position – not natural left wing, not natural number 9, so where does he fit in our system.
Smaller clubs don’t have the same problem, building their side around such talents affords the player a freeer role – much the same as Eze moving from palace to our system, where in our system he’s neither this nor that.
More seriously, Liverpool higherarchy sat down with PSG yesterday. It might now already be too late for Arsenal to sign Barcola, if we wish to seriously be involved in the Barcola chase, right now is the moment it’s being settled, if we wait a day or two Barcola will be at Liverpool before Alvarez door shuts on us.

Totally agree Banana’s. PSG have set up for a life without Barcola, Atleti have not set up for life without Alvarez… so when is MA going to wake up and smell the coffee?

As predicted by me a few hours ago, Barcola to Liverpool is today’s big news.
The Liverpool sit down in Paris went well Tuesday. Even dispatching Berta to Paris yesterday would have been too late for us.
He was gettable for Arsenal. PSG prepared for life without Barcola, unlike the players Arsenal are chasing and still hopeful for. Reading between the lines, Barcola himself wanted us to bid. And why? Closer to home? London life? It’s why Rice chose us. Barcola saw us at close hand, how we are ready to win things whilst other clubs arn’t.
The window isn’t over yet, but it’s looking like Arsenal fail to achieve top task on left forward.
