Arsenal is now set to move for Eberechi Eze alternatives

Arsenal are encountering difficulties in their pursuit of Eberechi Eze, as Crystal Palace remain firm in their demand that the player’s release clause be paid in full. The midfielder has shown a willingness to make the move, granting permission for the Gunners to open discussions with his current club, but negotiations are proving challenging.

Crystal Palace Unwilling to Compromise

Eze is considered one of Palace’s most important players and played a vital role in helping the club win the FA Cup and secure a return to European competition. Given his significance to the squad, the Eagles are not prepared to accept a fee below their valuation and have insisted that his release clause be met in its entirety.

Crystal Palace have a history of holding firm during transfer negotiations, and have previously allowed players to run down their contracts rather than accept unfavourable terms. While Eze remains open to the move, he has also remained professional and loyal to Palace, with no intention of forcing an exit.

This stance has complicated Arsenal’s efforts to finalise a deal, and the club is now exploring other options as the transfer window continues to progress.

Arsenal Consider Lookman as Alternative

According to Football Insider, Arsenal have turned their attention to Ademola Lookman as a possible alternative to Eze. The Atalanta forward has reportedly submitted a transfer request and is seeking a move away from Serie A during this window.

Atalanta has made it clear that they would prefer to sell Lookman to a club outside of Italy, which strengthens Arsenal’s position should they choose to pursue the player more seriously. The 27-year-old has enjoyed a strong spell in Italian football and has developed into one of the more consistent attacking performers in Europe.

Adding a player of Lookman’s experience and quality could prove a valuable move for Arsenal, particularly if negotiations for Eze remain at a standstill. As the Gunners continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign, Lookman presents a compelling option to reinforce the attack.

  1. Not particularly surprising. I was never sure why Palace would just “fold” and accept an offer from Arsenal substantially lower (according to reports anyway) than the release clause amount for one of their star players.

Anyway, only time will tell whether Eze arrives, but probably at greater cost, or whether Arsenal turns elsewhere.

  2. Lookman would be a great signing, strengthening the left hand side of the attack although I am not aware of the fee to be paid to Atlanta.

  3. An actual LW is also a need. We can revisit another creative midfielder later if needed. We simply cannot do another Martinelli/Trossard season and expect a major trophy.

  4. Lookman and Leao should be enough to strengthen Arsenal and make them formidable enough to win the EPL next season. Either of them is cheaper than Eze but acquiring both will definitely give Arsenal the needed squad dept!

  5. Honestly In My Opinion, I Think Arsenal Need A Natural Left Winger Like Lookman Or Rodrygo. Arsenal Have Many Options/Alternatives In The CMF/AMF Position Where Eze Is Best Suited.
Although l Would Have Gone For Rodrygo Cos He Is Younger, But Lookman Is Premier League Proven Cos He Had Played At For Various Clubs Like Leicester, Fulham & Everton.
