Arsenal keep repeating the same mistakes….

Each round we are reminded of how badly change is needed at this club. by Konstantin Mitov

Arsenal drew against Southampton. I’d say we got that little bit of luck we didn’t against Man United, but there is something that’s so obvious. Repeated mistakes. Just like against United we conceded in the first 3 minutes! Worst thing is that we could’ve conceded again and were lucky to draw this game.

It’s incredible that a team of this statue can stay so stagnant for so long. Twenty years is a long time in football. It creates entire generations which know only the era of one manager, but things eventually need to change. There need to be some fresh ideas which I don’t see coming season after season.

For example Alexis Sanchez had to be subbed in my opinion. He was giving the ball away too often and he’s obviously leaving so can we somehow get the best of him or sell him. We hired the scout of Borussia Dortmund and a former Barcelona sporting director Raul Sanllehi and I really hope he is a trigger for change.

The main problem for me in this football club is lack of responsibility. If you make a mistake and we concede, it’s alright. If you make it 3 games in a row (Xhaka), you still won’t get benched. If there are obvious defensive problems, and every counter threatens a goal, there’s no response. Heck if we lose 6:0 we treat it like it’s nothing.

Hopefully Raul’s job will be not only to handle contracts, but also install targets who the manager has to meet. We’ve changed everything in 20 years starting from players and ending with the owner, but we’ve barely touched the scouts, the med team, the fitness team until recently and of course the manager.

A lot of players will soon enter the final 2 years on their contract and would you renew your contract at Arsenal right now? Would you join Arsenal if you are a top player?

  1. Konstantin is like a clockwork. We win, he’s nowhere to be found. We lose or draw, here he is with his usual negativity. Here’s a thought, KM. Perhaps next time you can write a positive article after we win? I understand that beating BATE 6-0 is not as exciting in your eyes as losing 3-1 to ManU but the least you can do is give the boys/manager the credit when it’s actually due.

    1. @VLAD when we beat mutd or city or chelsea 6-0 bring that argument. We are arsenal and should do beter. Kostantin is 100% correct. Players need to be held accountable as well as the manager

    2. It’s because we all know that whenever we get a decent result, the usual rubbish (Conceding early goals / Shambolic defending / Lacklustre performances / Bewildering team selection) is only just around-the-corner, and it’s not going to get better as things stand.

It’s been well over a decade of the same thing. What possible evidence is there to suggest that anything will get better with the current regime?

    3. Trump did the impossible, but he is a nothing compared to Wenger therefore i salute him for deluding idiots to remain in power for years, bravo le frog

I also salute Theo, a player who belongs in the second devision, but somehow is still at arsenal, wears the nr 14 shirt, which i cant endure to see at his back, and also earns 130k besides playing very littel or only somwhere in kekistan

What else is there to salute at Arsenal?

    4. What Vlad said is true. Did he say he shouldn’t be critical? Did he say not to criticise the manager or anyone in the club? No. Konstantin was nowhere to be seen when we were getting results. But now he’s crawled out of the woodwork. Being critical of the team when they are dire is exactly what fans should do, but if you’re not giving it up the other way you’re not a fan. It’s impossible to respect your opinion if you only have one when we’re losing. Well at least when we get on a decent run he’ll disappear for a while.

    5. Konstantin is an attention wh@re riding the latest news. Best you can do is to just skip his brainf@rts. You will live longer.

  2. Our defenders are making mistakes yes but they are also not being protected by a robust mobile midfielder in front of them. So far I don’t just get what the fans see in Xhaka..add BFG to the mix..that’s the slowest combination in the history of the league. Xhaka maybe suited to slower leagues. In my opinion opposition teams have figured out Xhaka’s immobility. The boss, Mustafi and Monreal have been decent but they simply don’t have any protection .. we don’t have a midfield.

    1. I would try mitland niles wilshire elnany ozil in the middle and up front welbeck/sanches … laca/12…walcott /laca ,12,welbeck a flanker and a hit man

    2. “So far I don’t see what the fans see in Xhaka”. You must know different Gooners than I do. My pals all cant stand him and myriad comments on here from Gooners agree.

  3. new season new manager new system new players and sell a few players. Until then make sure we win the EL or get top 4.
Ancelotti/Allegri would do with Zouma Goretzka and Fekir coming in and a few new strong players
and sell Mustafi Debuchy Sanchez Walcott Ramsey Elneny and Cech (maybe Giroud/Monreal)

  4. Wenger Out before we end up like Everton,
Yank out before we end up like an NFL sports entertainment also ran club.
The new manager will overhaul the back room staff
New owner will have to invest in the team like our rival teams.SIMPLES!

  5. Jack Wiltshire – is so obviously the solution to continually poor performance from Xaka

    A no-brainer solution

  6. If you have a tooth ache you extract the problem. Arsenal have the same issue and it needs extracted sooner rather than later.

  7. The same mistakes gave been occurring for the last 10-12 years and Wenger has been found incapable of curing it over those years. What hope is there that he can miraculously find a cure now?

  8. The greatest trick the devil played was to convince the world that he does not exist, like Arsene Wegner the greatest trick he played on silent Stan and the akb’s was to convince them that he is a good manager .

  9. It makes no sense to keep blaming Wenger for every mistake the players make. We have a good team who play attractive football and respond well to adversity, as we saw in the games against Man U and Southampton. But the fact remains that we only have two world class players, Ozil and Sanchez, one of whom, Sanchez, is on a poor run of form at the moment, though he always tries. Man City in contrast have got at least five world class players, Aguero, Silva, Sane’, De Bruyne and Fernandinho. Until we are prepared to match their spending we have little chance of winning the Premiership.

  10. I didn’t favor Arsene’s current formation of 3 CB’s. We add more attacking players therefore we become more aggressive but at same time we become more fragile in defense. The CB’s need to be more responsive as they’ve wider area to cover. Two wing back must track back faster because they left the defensive line shallow. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the formation to be the problem because many big teams like Barca, PSG, Muenchen, or Madrid, runs it weeks in weeks out. It’s all the lack of our defensive players to be the matters. Per the senior, or Holding the junior are too slow. Even faster CB’s like Kos and Mustafi are back foot overwhelm many many times to intercept their opponents. We must provide the defensive sector with right source of men to do this formation correctly.

  11. Wengers prpblem is that he has become too atached with the club. This leads him to emotional decisions instead of professional. Furthermore, he is also emotionally attached to players thus ends up making alot of wrong choices in the team.

  12. Most of the comments on here are opinions and I respect everyone’s right to express their opinion, but when someone says that the manager should not be held responsible for the mistakes of the players and he changes the players and they make the same mistakes, surely then we can all agree that the manager must be held responsible for the players he not only chose to buy but now has no choice but to persist with and as for the few good performances, how long do we have to wait before we get a full season of consistently good enough performances that would give the fans (not the deluded ones) any belief that this truly great club can rise up from our sleep walk into further mediocrity.
