Arsenal Legends take on Milan with Henry, Bergkamp and more!

Arsenal Legends will be taking on Milan Glorie in September in what looks to be a star-studded event.

The North-London side have persuaded a number of the best players over the past two decades to participate in the match, which looks to be a must-watch for any hardcore Arsenal fan.

The notable absence from the side is most likely Patrick Vieira, but the majority of my personal favourite players are set to appear, including Marc Overmars, BBC’s Euro 2016 pundit Thierry Henry and AJax assistant manager Dennis Bergkamp.

The match-up is set to take place on September 3, which is on the weekend of a number of international fixtures, with England set to travel to Slovakia on September 4 in a World Cup qualifier.

Henry and Bergkamp will have to overcome the legendary duo of Paulo Maldini and Franco Baresi in the opposing defence, with Filippo Inzaghi and Cafu also confirmed for the Milan Glorie.

Maldini will captain their side, and has revealed his delight at returning to North-London, as he is anticipating a passionate crowd for the match. He said: ‘It will be a great pleasure to play again with my AC Milan team-mates at Emirates Stadium – one of the best stadiums in the world.

‘We are very excited to face such a great team of Arsenal legends and we look forward to putting on an entertaining and competitive match.

‘We know the fans in England are very passionate and we expect a great atmosphere in London. It is a privilege to be part of this match and raise money for charity’.
