Arsenal linked with move for exciting Real Madrid attacker

According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Arsenal have been linked with a move for Real Madrid starlet Vinicius Junior as the ace is reportedly no longer part of Zinedine Zidane’s plans.

Calciomercato’s report adds that Los Blancos may even decide to sell the Brazilian starlet in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has only started four of his 11 appearances across all competitions this season.

Vinicius’ countryman – Rodrygo, has burst onto the scene this season and Madrid already have fierce competition on the wings.

There’s no doubting that Vinicius is one of the most exciting young wingers in the world, we find it hard to believe that Madrid would be willing to part with such a high-potential talent.

Vinicius Junior is one of the highest-profile young talents in the world.

As per BBC Sport, Los Blancos signed the winger from Brazilian outfit Flamengo for a fee of £38.7m.

This was Vinicius’ value two years ago, we can only wonder what the Spanish giants value him at now.

Zinedine Zidane’s side would be taking a massive risk by moving on such a talented prospect so early in their career.

Whilst it would be lovely to see the samba star at Arsenal – we think that a deal would be incredibly hard to arrange if the report’s true about Vinicius being available for transfer.

  1. Why? So he can sit the bench with Pepe?

Not like he’d play much with Emery’s tactics; a failed midfield diamond, today 3 CB’s, 2 wingbacks for width.

Nevermind we got some bite when he changed to a back 4 and brought Pepe in.

Imagine Tierney running them ragged on the left like we saw, and Pepe sprinting down the right side.

Nah, lets play with extra defenders because Emery was fearful of a 19th place squad.

    1. I would be much more excited Durand, if we were being linked with a new coach or a top class defender to take over from luiz and sokratis.

Why is it our club always seems to be linked with impossible forwards?
Jeez, if the rumours were that we were after van dyke, knowing it was an impossibility, at least we might think the club is looking in the right area!!

      1. We are facing the problem of always buying players who are bench t or surplus or lost there first team positions or some times we buy player because his price is low and this is the result, So when teams are competing for top players we go opposite direction and thats wrong marketing stratage. What result do we expect?.

    1. Sue, how DARE you talk about our legend Tony Adams that way?

If only Sue, if only luiz or sokratis could turn into a complete Tony Adams donkey, our troubles would be over.

Wonder what Salibas is thinking about his move to the mighty Arsenal at this moment in time?

        1. Sue, if you want to go Thursday you can have my season ticket . All you have to do is pick it up and bring it back after the game. I live in Victoria Park, 20-30 minutes from the ground. It’s among the best seats in the Stadium behind the Television Camera. If you want it, get in touch with Admin Martin by Email and then email me. Martin I give full permission for you to give Sue my Email address. Obviously Sue this is a gift to you and absolutely no charge.

          1. This really is kind of you, Kenny. I’m so grateful for your offer! 😊
To be totally honest, I wasn’t planning on going. I turned down tickets for yesterday too. I’m so disappointed with things right now, I can’t motivate myself to go.. until things change, I can’t see myself going again for the foreseeable! What’s the point!!
I really do appreciate your kindness though, Kenny. Thank you 🙂

  2. 71 shots against us in last 3 prem. games is a joke
I do not know how we havnt let 10 in yet in the 1 game as we are the worst across europe
No tactics that get us any where no defence midfield is falling apart and forwards look like they gave up its unreal at this stage if he doesnt get the sack then its league 1 next year.
There is not 1 other club look as bad as we do every week since huddersfield last year.
2 prem games this year we had more shots than the opps. and we didnt even win those 2.
Since 1987 i follow the gunners and ive never felt this bad.

    1. well the fans got what they wish for…

let the manager and focus on their job instead of the abuse and criticism

if the result still remain the same Emery would be gone in 2 to 3 weeks

  3. Have us taken note of the £38.7m signing fee that Madrid was reported to have paid to the Brazilian club side Flamengo to secure the 19 year old Brazilian youngster Vinicius Junior from them 2 seasons ago? That’s not a small amount of money. And us all know how hard Real Madrid are in demanding heavy money on any of their players before they okay his transfer from the club. But apparently Vinicius Junior must have flopped at Real Madrid warranting them wanting to offload him probably during the next January transfer window if the Calciomercato’s report on the lad is not just a mere speculation.

But assuming the purported offloading of Vinicius Junior by Real Madrid in January is true. But does Arsenal actually need the lad? And if they need him, in what wing is the lad a specialist playing from? Left or right wings? And are Arsenal short in these two departments in their current first team squad as they have Saka and Martinelli who can play as left wingers for Arsenal but Martinelli is mostly played as a striker in Arsenal Europa League Cup matches by Emery. And in the right wing, Arsenal have Nicholas Pepe playing there as a specialist right winger who they signed last summer transfer window for £72m according to reports in the media. And they also have Reiss Nelson playing as a right winger in the team but sometimes he’s played as a left winger by head coach Emery. But the question I want to ask is which Gunner in the club’s current first team squad will Arsenal use the signing of Vinicius Junior to upgrade in the squad? But that’s assuming they shield out big money to sign him next January window. Use his signing as an upgrade to one of: Saka, Nelson or Martinelli? If so, I can see Arsenal then moving Nelson or Saka out of the club on loan or transfer next January window but if they sign Vinicius Junior. But there will be a lot of incoming transfer options that will be available to Arsenal in January to choose from.

  5. If Vinicius Jr can use his weaker foot to dribble and shoot like Sadio Mane, Wilfried Zaha and Christian Pulisic, get him as soon as possible

Arsenal need a winger with adept weaker foot. Mane scored twice and dribbled with his left foot in a match, which I don’t think Pepe would be able to do this:

    1. There is far too much emphasis on dribbling, we should be passing and moving, quickly. Ok beat a man but why dribble and lose the ball as we constantly do. Players who dribble and lose the ball should be fined🤔

    2. Oh FFS-why the F*** are you still banging on about inverted wingers and dribbles and Sane and Zaha and now Pulisic.PAL -you know nothing about football and bore the arse of everyone with rubbish every time you write. In case you haven’t noticed the Club is in a bit of trouble at the moment.Start reading the Headline and writing sensible replies for a change. It’s not that difficult if you gave yourself a couple of minutes to read the thing before replying.

  6. the only move of interest is emery’s out the front door … but sadly a club run by a corporate rent seeker whose sole interest is in its underlying asset value and with no interest in the game or fans will still have to ooperate with an albatross round its neck … as performances drop and club valuation eventually falls the bottom line will become a big issue for him but can take some time .. looks like we are following in the heavy footsteps of Milan

  7. We all seem to be focusing on central defenders only. Core of the problem is lack of two genuine defensive DEFENSIVE midfielders – protecting the central defenders , breaking opposition play AND moving the ball forward. This continues a problem since Wenger’s later years.

    1. If a DM is really good, only one suffices in a team. But they are a little hard to come by really. At least the good ones. Better options seem to be to train a young, physically strong CB better ball playing skills and other traits like distribution, positioning, etc and turn into a DM. There are many traits that are transferable between a CB and a DM. Like we have Luiz, he can play as DM right away, much better than CB definitely. But Emery just is too unimaginative to even consider that.

  8. Now honestly why to hell do we need another attacker, it’s bloody central defenders we need. Someone who can organise the fn team. Why put stupid stories like this up?
