Arsenal are said to have made an approach to sign Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle this summer.
The 26 year-old has spent three-and-a-half seasons on Tyneside, but appears set on an exit this summer following his club’s relegation to the Championship.
Sissoko has impressed since moving the Premier League in January 2013, and was linked with a switch to Arsenal in December 2014, with the midfielder said to be a fan of the club, but no move prevailed.
The North-London side now look set to reignite their interest in the French international, who is set to depart to France for the European Championships this summer.
West Ham are also believed to be in the hunt for the Newcastle star, who is believed to be available for £10 Million.
The Gunners on the other hand are also believed to be in the advanced stages of moves to sign Granit Xhaka and N’Golo Kante, while they are also said to be in talks to sign another midfielder in Henrikh KNhitaryan.
It is true that trio Tomas Rosicky, Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini are all leaving Arsenal in the coming weeks, which will free up space for new arrivals, but surely all of these targets would be hard to accommodate.
Alexis Sanchez is also being linked with a possible exit in the coming window, and the Dortmund forward would be the perfect replacement on the wing.
With Elneny and Coquelin already vying for roles at the base of our midfield, as well as Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere hoping to feature heavily next season.
Would Sissoko be able to challenge any of these for a starting role at the Emirates next season?
No please. We have many of his kind. Bring in Xhaka, WC CF and a CB.

well kante isnt really a famous world class player who has consistently performed for 2-3 years
You’re telling me Sissokho is world class ? Please just stop throwing that word around, he isn’t in fact he’s just average. A world class player gets sought by teams like Real and Bayern and doesn’t let his team fall into relegation. Alonso is what you call world class DM, Kante isn’t at that level but still miles ahead of Sissokho, he helped his team win the league ffs lol
Wow. We are apparently signing a lot of players. The rumour is becoming something else. Kante, Sissoko, Xhaka. Don’t know which player we’ll get.
I prefer Xhaka or Kante but Sissoko looks like Wenger kind of signing. Anyway, we’ll wait and see how it pans out.
Surprised for me to see Deschamps picked up Sissoko over the names of Adrien Rabiot and Schneiderlin.
I think Sissoko is Arsene’s alternative plan if we don’t get Xhaka or Kante. We are only going to buy one of them, because another slot is for main striker and CB. I can’t see we’ll sign more forwards if Theo or Ox or both still attach. We should keep Joel and Iwobi on the bench.
We should grab this opportunity, power and pace is a missing ingredient of our midfield, who are a little too fragile, plus height has always been a concern.
Sissoko would also be cheap and comes with experience of the league. Therefore it would be a great buy
exactly, i dont get why many here dont want him, i still remember that last year a lot of guys wanted him and he would be a great squad player and would be good competition for the other players and he is versatile

By the look of things,we may have signed Xhaka so I don’t think Wenger will sign two midfielders..
Unless he is planning to sell one of Ramsey or Wilshere…maybe
But what I want is for us to bring in two midfielders..one from within and one from without namely;

In the absense of genuine information from Arsenal, the media step in with made up stories, taking statements out of context etc.
We really should ignore most of these rumours and save ourselves a lot of time and anguish.

Right now.there are reports claiming Xhaka is already in London..he is not with the Gladbach team and the Switzerland national team,it could be true!
Artan Muhaxhiri: search for this guy’s page on facebook, he is reported to be Xhaka’s friend, they have a few cosy pics together even, I don’t know what to make of the info I found on his page but he says the man’s in London, I want to belive that but we’ve been burnt on more than one occassion in the past lol.
Just bring Xhaka, please! Then we will go from there to talk about other things like a WC CF!
xhaka is a gud sighing but only a world class striker will be a milestone for ur this transfer window…and no way I see sanchez leaving arsenal this season thats bollocks and if he does then that just shows our goals as a club
