Arsenal make clear their position on Matteo Guendouzi amid transfer speculation

Arsenal has no plans to sell Matteo Guendouzi despite his recent disciplinary troubles.

The Frenchman was recently axed from the Arsenal team after he appeared to make trouble with a number of Brighton players.

He was not named in the team that beat Southampton and Mikel Arteta confirmed that it was a disciplinary measure.

That wasn’t the first time that Guendouzi has fallen out with Arteta since the Spaniard became the club’s manager, but it appeared that this was the last straw and the midfielder wanted out.

He reportedly indicated that he wanted to leave the Emirates in a bid to force through a summer move, but ESPN claims that Arsenal turned down his request instantly and informed him that they have no plans to sell him.

Guendouzi has not exactly won over Arteta since the Spaniard became the club’s manager.

Arteta has, however, shown that he is willing to take a chance on any player that proves to be worth it and he might still give further chances to Guendouzi now that the club has denied him a summer move.

He joined Arsenal from French second division side, Lorient in 2018 and he has shown his quality in some games for the club. At 21 he is still young enough to learn from Arteta.

  1. Just read that Atletico Madrid are interested in a swap deal involving Partey – probably nothing in it, but I would snap their hands off.

    1. I’dalso love Partey, as would most Gooners it seems, but either way I’d stil get rid of the rotten apple Guendouzi. With so many impressionable kids at our club and in the team and squad, a bad apple infects others. It is not as if Guendouzi is aworld class player whom we cannot afford to lose.
He would fetch a tidy sum and I have faith in Arteta to use that money well. Certainly better than keeping the rotten apple. He has had a number ofsecond chances but still misbehaves. Out the door asap for me!

      1. Guendouzi shouldn’t be sold. He’s young and can be molded into a better player. He reads the game well for a 19yr old and doesn’t hide either. Let’s not forget how raw he actually is.

Give him another season to see how Arteta can improve him

    2. I will take it, we need help and an established player like Partey. They can take Guedozi.

  2. He has a lot to change and change does not come instantly but gradually, he should stay and we can go in for partey as well, if we have both, its a good deal

  3. Whew! I was worried for a while there. So relieved 🙌🙌🙌
Our Moroccan is not going anywhere in now! United, Atlerico, step away from the Guendouzi and walk away with your hands in the air!!
