Oleksander Zinchenko has been linked with a potential departure from Arsenal for much of the current transfer window. Initial reports suggested Fulham were interested in securing the Ukrainian’s services, followed by claims that AC Milan were also considering a move.
At present, the defender finds himself as the third-choice left-back in the squad, and Arsenal would reportedly have no hesitation in allowing him to leave. With less than a year remaining on his contract, a sale during this window would both remove his wages from the books and generate a transfer fee.

Although interest has been reported from multiple clubs, talks with his potential suitors have yet to progress to an advanced stage. Zinchenko remains part of the Arsenal squad for now, though his manager is understood to favour the other left-backs available. This leaves the player facing limited opportunities for regular first-team football should he remain.
According to Football365, Zinchenko is now considering staying at the club and running down the final year of his deal, as no acceptable offer has been received for his signature. While he remains open to leaving, the same report indicates that he has no significant objections to staying at the Emirates.
Playing Time and Future Prospects
If Zinchenko chooses to remain, competition for his position will be fierce, and his chances of securing consistent minutes are expected to be limited. From Arsenal’s perspective, a transfer would be the preferable outcome, allowing the player to join a club willing to offer him more regular playing opportunities.

The fiasco surrounding Izak shows just how much the players really love the shirt. If it wasn’t a case of Newcastle cutting off their nose to spite their face by not selling him, they would more than be within their rights to sue him for breach of contract I’d have thought

That’s my thought on the Isak issue as well. If he’s refusing to play for Newcastle again, then surely they should stop paying him.
If he Sue’s then surely any court in their right mind will side with Newcastle. Because he’s not abiding by his contract.
I wish I was a rich owner. I’d make a point to these primidone’s. In Isak’s case, I believe he’s got three years left on his contract.
This is what I’d like to do, firstly inform him that I’ll pay him for three season’s for doing nothing, and I’d also be willing to watch him walk for free at the end of his contract.
But I’d then advise him that he’ll be training on his own for three seasons, and see how he liked the thought of three missed years of his playing career.
Of course this is a pipe dream. But it would just be nice, if just for once these over pampered players were put firmly in their place. 🤷♂️
Well the Saudis isn’t certainly afford to keep him training with the kids or on his own ! They already side they’re not selling .. lets see if Liverpool up their offer to eg £125mn and see if the Saudis flinch

Derek, that’s what my thought as well. He could still be useful as a midfielder or even LB in the right Carabao or FA Cup fixtures or perhaps as a midfielder late on if we are desperately chasing a PL game.
But if the report is correct, it doesn’t help to solve Arsenal’s dilemma – their inability (so far, although there’s some time left) to sell players.
After all, if not Zinchenko (now) or, say, Martinelli, Jesus, Kiwior etc. etc., then who? As far as I can tell from reports the likes of Nelson, Vieira and the other “usual suspects” aren’t exactly pushing to leave – and there doesn’t seem to be much (any, in some cases) demand for them.
Of course, there’s nothing really to be done if they’re under contract and refuse to go, but it’s a worrying situation for Arsenal/Berta I would have thought.
It’s interesting to compare/contrast with the position at Chelsea (always much maligned, sometimes with good reason) where sales from their Acadamy alone have just reached £250m in only three seasons!
This is what you get when you put your players on fat wages and make too comfortable to ever think of leaving even when they’re contributing almost nothing to the team.
Sides like Chelsea are doing the exact opposite of what we do, that’s why it’s easy for them to move players on and not worry about players running down contracts.
For a change, I think henceforth Arsenal should make it known to players that are surplus to requirements or no longer needed long before the start of the new season. Let them look for new clubs and don’t take them on pre-season tours while you make changes to new contract offered to players.

I’ve said on more than one post that I feel other clubs know Arsenal’s situation regards clearing out players. How many times over recent years have we been forced to loan out player’s because no one wants to buy them.
With Arsenal’s recent poor track record regarding transfers, Berta has got one heck of a job on his hands. He may have proved his worth regarding recruitment, but I think he’s going to have to be a flipping magician to clear away some of the players that we no longer want.
And your comment’s regarding Chelsea’s transfer policy. People may laugh at it, but it’s been pretty successful hasn’t it. And being Arsenal fans, we should know, we’ve fallen victim to them often enough in the past haven’t we.😂

I don’t blame him, as he’ll likely have more clubs interested in him when he becomes a free transfer. He’ll probably have a nice pick of which country to play in
on 150k pw this will be his last massive payday as a pro. He’s not walking away from that contract. Not many people would. We need to be smarter at offering wages. Zinny on 150k was always too high. Nelson on 100k was heavily scrutinized at the time because everyone knew he’d become unsellable once that happened, and now he basically is.
And Rashford on £300kpw and then there’s Grealish
And our very own Jesus at £265k a week of course.
Just pointing out, Bertie, that other clubs have the same problems.
City forked out a small fortune for Kalvin Phillips who is still on their books and commanding £150kpw over a 6 year contract. Not peanuts by any stretch.

If/when he leaves it will be interesting to see how much another club pays for him. The more the merrier as the fee will be all profit for Arsenal in this case being that he’s homegrown.
We’ll see. 15-20mill is still pennies for a decent English winger. especially the prices we are seeing this window. If his wages were lower there would be more clubs in for him and a higher transfer fee.
