Arsenal must be wary of tough UCL match with 5 star Greeks

While Arsenal fans are all feeling a lot better about life after the misfiring strikers all scored at the weekend to help us put five past a Leicester City team that had not lost a game up to that point, I do not think m,any of us were paying much attention to the results in the Greek Super League.

Maybe we should though, because the Greek champions Olympiakos are next up for Arsenal in the Champions League and they are likely to arrive in north London full of confidence. The club from Athens also scored five goals at the weekend, beating Giannina 5-1 at home.

That made it five wins from five games in their domestic league, so Arsene Wenger must prepare his Arsenal team for a tough test against a team that is clearly on a great run. Having said that, however, the Gunners should also be heading in to this game confident of a result.

The Greeks have lost one game this season and it was in the Champions League, going down 3-0 at home to the German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. Olympiacos are also generally much worse on the road in European competition, and although they did nearly make it into the quarter finals two seasons ago it was mainly on the strength of their home results.

This is a big game for the Gunners after losing our first game to Dinamo Zagreb and with us not playing until Sunday, is it vital for Wenger to play a full strength side and to make sure the players are not taking Olympiakos lightly?
