Arsenal now know what a win against Watford means

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham all won today but incredibly Manchester City lost to newly-promoted Norwich City.

That means that a win for Arsenal tomorrow against Watford at Vicarage Road will take them to third in the standings on the same points as City, who will only occupy second courtesy of goal difference.

Another factor to throw into the mix is that City has played just one top-six side so far in Tottenham, whereas Arsenal has played two, against Liverpool and Spurs.

Obviously it is still too early in the season to be making any predictions or assumptions but beating the Hornets will mean that after five games Arsenal is level with last seasons champions, something no one will have predicted before the season started.

The flip side is that a loss, while not disastrous, would be a significant setback, a draw would not be helpful but it would at least take Arsenal level with Chelsea, Tottenham and United.

The signs are definitely there that this is going to be a season with many twists and turns and that consistency is what will make the difference over 38 games.

City has now joined United, Spurs and Chelsea in shock losses, something that has not befallen Arsenal as of yet and that is a form of consistency, it is understandable dropping points against a top-six side but not against newly-promoted sides or so-called inferior sides on your own ground.

Arsenal can lay down a marker tomorrow and that alone would be a difference from last season.

  1. Despite that Lacazette is absent to play for Arsenal at away to Watford tomorrow in the PL, Arsenal still have a formidable team in position to penetrate Watford and beat them resoundingly and go joint 3rd with Man City in the table as the article posting has pointed it out.

This is a chance that Arsenal should not fail to avail themselves with it by beating Watford who are desperate for points collection. Therefore, head coach Emery and the 18 Gunners he’ll use to play the match should not underestimate the Hornents resolves in the game to play for the collection of the maximum 3 points at stake in the match by beating Arsenal to embarrass us the Arsenals. Or at least get a point in the match playing in their Vicarage Road Stadium using it as a home advantage to achieve their aims. But in this respect, I enjoy Emery to select his most fittest and inform Gunners for the match not showing favoritism in his Gunners selection for the match. And he should also make sure he gets his Gunners setup for the match spot on.

I think if Arsenal play to form, they’ll beat Watford by at least 3 or 4 nil at the end of the match.

  2. You know on paper arsenal suppose to win, however in reality any of the outcome win, draw or loose can happen, knowing how important the maximum points would mean to us we should approach the game with full focus and strong mentality.
