Arsenal player ratings from West Brom woe – Alexis MOTM

I had to give myself some time to get over the way that Arsenal lost away to West Brom yesterday, or every single Gunner may have got a zero. Even in the cold light of day there were not many of our players who could hold their heads up and as Petr Cech went off in the first half after some key saves it was easy to pick Alexis Sanchez as our man of the match.

Cech 6 – Exposed by defence for opener but kept us in game until injury.

Bellerin 4 – Tried to get forward but with little or no effect.

Mustafi 4 – Struggled in defence and gave ball away time and again.

Koscielny 4 – No sign of his leadership or defensive tenacity.

Monreal 6 – Played well but was struggling against the tide.

Xhaka 5 – Good assist for Alexis goal but that’s about it.

Ramsey 4 – Was he playing? The Welshman’s form this season is truly awful.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 5 – Tried to inject some thrust but faded and was gone by the end.

Walcott 3 – Not the way to show England snub was a mistake.

Alexis 7 – Good goal and usual energy but almost no help and his injury ended any Arsenal hope.

Welbeck 5 – Pretty awful apart from unlucky header off bar.

subs:
Ospina 3 – We know he’s a good keeper but did not show it at all.

Giroud 5 – Tried to get us going but by that time it was all crumbling around him.

Iwobi 5 – Thankless task in final 10 minutes. No impact.

    1. arsenal ladies just beat tottenham ladies 10-0
      thats right ten nil

moral of the story….our ladies team have more hunger and balls than this mob

march an all we have left is fa cup to fight for
      like every year

i cannot for the life of me understand anyone who wants to keep him-
      blind faith?
      fear?

that excuse of not having money they sat on for years they dont have anymore- so what excuse now?

im pretty sure hes staying with the way hes prolonging telling us his plans
      poor fella cant let go

  1. spurs looking good, the ship is sinking, if wenger hangs it up this year, then i consider it a good season,

    1. Yup,The ship is sinking yet pugwash Wenger is sitting in the crows nest hanging on for dear life.
As things stand,We’re joint 6th with Everton at the moment.
?Oh when the Spuds.. Go marching in? ???

  2. the ship crew has drowned, but the ship (the club) will live. new manager, new board and some new faces gooner = for ever

  3. Southgate dropped Walcott for good reason,he will never be a striker.
He is sloppy and can’t track back.He just walk around and yet get paid 120.000 a week. Most of arsenal players needs to go on loan. They are too week.

  4. Alexis holds onto the ball far too long to help the team, he is all over the pitch instead of spending quality time in and around the box, great enthusiasm but detrimental to the team as much as Alex Song bombing forward and leaving his primary position unattended. Xhaka was man of the match for me. If I was undecided before now, now I am certain Wenger’s been right all with his approach of not signing prima donnas who think that they are bigger than the team, it’s refreshing to see a player with as much enthusiasm as Sanchez but at some point discretion and good sense has to prevail, afterall he and Ozil are Barca and Madrid rejects, I would take RvP and Fabregas over him and Ozil, players we didn’t have to pay over the odds for, players who despite the circumstances of their exits understood the team comes first. We can’t have two managers in a team, Sanchez is not the manager, no matter how badly a player performs, I doubt if banners would be held up to get him out, the manager bears the ultimate responsibility for the team, that boy needs to get with the program.

  5. No one bar Alexis deserves more than a 2 or 3. Shocking performances all around. As for Ospina – I’ve been saying it ever since we bought him – he’s a terrible keeper, and should be sold along with other dross like Ramsey.

  6. We have zero quality, zero threat.

Sanchez deserves MOTM. Ramsey as No. 10 role? What did Walcott do? Welbeck was a disappointment; only positive is he played full 90 minutes.

And look at the subs. Only Giroud and Iwobi were attacking players.

This is the quality we have as a whole squad. Does anyone think we can finish top 4?

This is what we have become of after so many years and I can’t believe this is Arsenal. Big, big change has to come and we, the fans, have to make it happen and support it.

    Wenger out.
