Arsenal players must be knocking on England door

Arsenal players set for a return to England squad

One of the biggest frustrations watching England is the lack of Arsenal players in the squad. That could soon change with at least three Arsenal players knocking on the door.

England lost this evening against the Czech Republic and there are clear areas of vulnerabilities. That is where the Arsenal players can play a role, or at least be considered.

Joe Willock, Calum Chambers and Bukayo Saka have to be in the thinking of England manager Gareth Southgate. Willock is certainly playing as well as any of the midfielders that faced the Czechs. Chambers is in better form than the likes of Harry Maguire. It may be a little early for Saka BUT he is also in better form than the likes of Rashford.

If form is the criteria and it tends to be with Southgate, then the Arsenal trio deserves to be in with a shout at the very least. Obviously, it is too late for this squad. But all that means is that they have to maintain their form for when the next squad is announced.

Put it this way, if they are still in form by the time the next squad is due to be named. Then they would have even more of a claim.

As both an Arsenal and England fan, I cannot wait for the return to the England squad of multiple Arsenal players.

  1. How an England manager can play so many Tottenham and Manchester United players is beyond me.
Just look at their recent form!

  2. As our players always seem to get injuries when playing for their countries, I’m more than happy with the status quo, very selfish I know!!!

Who needs an international cap, when CL, top four, europa league winners, fa cup winners and league cup winners beckons!!!!!

    1. If we donโ€™t want to sell our English players, we donโ€™t need them to get more international caps. Unfortunately, Arsenal have to get money and sell some of them in the future

However, they have less experience than their compatriots at other clubs in top flight football

If Chambers has cemented his place at the DM position, I think only him able play regularly for England. But I predict he would never get the chance to play in that position at Arsenal

  3. Bad night for England
But surprisingly this is England’s first loss in a major tournament qualifier since 2009. That’s an awesome record

But I don’t see us winning a major tournament in the foreseeable future sadly

    As for the article
I think we have several candidates who could play for England in the future

  4. quality players get International call ups….

if we have 22 world class players that means 22 players will get called up and potential get injured….

  5. I dont know why all these nigerian yoruba boys are eager to play for England instead of Nigeria.

I will be so disappointed if saka choose to play for England
