Arsenal quietly pursue “World class” Celtic star

Arsenal have been linked with 100 players already since the Premier League campaign ended, but one transfer rumour that has not been given so much atention is the Gunners interest in the Australian midfielder Tim Rogic, who has been excellent for the Scottish Champions Celtic and won their Goal-of-the-Season award.

Despite being only 23, Rogic has already won 17 full caps with the Socceroos, scoring four times, and the attacking mid has also bagged 10 times in 41 appearances for the Hoops. The former Australia midfielder Peter Raskopoulos reckons that Arsenal is the perfect destination for Rogic to continue his development towards world stardom.

Raskopoulos said: “I adore watching Tommy Rogic. He’s something special.

“I hope he’s overcome his injuries and I hope that he does move to Arsenal, as the rumours suggest.

“The more European league in the EPL will suit him better than the bustle and roughness of the Scottish league.

“The Scottish league is a hard league and Tommy will be suited to Arsenal much better. It’s a club where we’ll see Tommy making a huge name for himself.

“He just looks a different class right now.

“He looks like when Viduka and Kewell were in their prime. He’s a half a pass above anyone on the park right now.

“You don’t know how far he can go but I just hope he’s injury free for a year or two because I think he can really be in that top echelon of world-class players.”

Now this is the sort of Arsenal rumour that could easily happen. Rogic is young, apparently talented and improving, and players from the Scottish League are rarely expensive. The SPL is a good training ground for the Prem but the 6ft 2in Rogic seems to be handling the physical side very well. The only problem is that we already have an abundance of attacking midfielders, but that has never stopped Wenger before…

  1. A case of an Australian praising his country man and that’s all..or did anyone expect him to say he isn’t good enough?.Anyway the praise doesn’t mean that the player is so gud..we better groom our own Iwobi and Toral.. they are good prospects too..

    1. Haha and a new stadium as well too, with lots of car parks, sorry mate our midfield is well loaded barring any major injuries which of course as we know will most definetely happen, all we need is a world class striker(Admin*Cough-article*),centre back, maybe a winger and handle the two other positions which are not that neccesary but could be useful for rotation like the ospina back up position and getting an extra midfielder in Ngolo Kante I love his simplicity and his mobility much much much better upgrade to flamini

  2. ” I just hope he is injury free for a year or too”…that statement suggests he is injury prone so let’s get him as we don’t have enough midfielders already,at least Wilshere will have a pal in the treatment room to avoid boredom…sighs*

    1. This guy doesn’t know the meaning of injury prone, Tommy had terrible knee injury when he moves to Celtic which took him out for a year but ever since he’s been back he hasn’t had any injuries whatsoever

    L()L

    quietly?….Like Tip-Toe?

    World class star?…. Hahahaha

  5. The last thing we need is a player who is battling for fitness.
To make it even more unlikely is the fact that he is a CM (the last position we need.

  6. Lets see, we have an atacking midfielder who is a cheap prospect but injury prone. Whilst not french he studied french at school and has been on holiday in france.

Well thats all five boxes ticked, sign him up as soon as possible.

  7. What is the update on the Vardy move? Heard he has changed his mind and will be staying at Leicester. Also Sissoko loves Arsenal. He wants to come. But we have many Central Midfielders at the moment. Wish we can wrap up the Vardy deal or move on to other Strikers if he does not want to come.

  8. I think Vardy might still come to Arsenal. He has been told to focus completely on England. So he will be making his decision after the Euros while our offer still stands if he won’t be coming he would have told us by now that he will be staying with Leicester then we shift our attention to another striker. Arsene has made him an offer which would be hard to refuse. Let’s just exercise patience. At the end of the window we will be having a striker. Best believe.
