Arsenal risk missing out on highly rated bargain priced Ligue 1 star

Transfer rumours are starting to ramp up now that the domestic season has been concluded and players that have previously been heavily linked with Arsenal are now starting to attract other interested parties.

One of those players is Rennes star Ismaila Sarr, and the £25 Million rated forward has now come to the attention of Leicester City, Roma and AC Milan, who are all reportedly keen on signing the 21-year-old.

Sarr is highly talented, we know this from our own experience of watching him play against us in the Europa League and with 12 goals and 11 assists, mainly from the wing, for a side hardly setting French football alight is fairly impressive.

His price is very attractive and when you take on board his young age, he is definitely a player we should be looking to sign.

It is also being reported that we made contact with Rennes back in March but for some reason that has died down and that is a slight worry.

In fact, a source close to the Senegalese international has claimed that Leicester City has now made a firm approach for the player.

This is what the source apparently told Senegalese media:

‘Leicester, Roma and AC Milan are the three clubs that have shown genuine interest in signing Ismaila.

‘He has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool. But I have not heard any news from either of these two clubs.’

It would certainly be frustrating if we allow others to come along and basically hijack our plans when it was us that first showed significant interest in the impressive winger and I have a feeling that we will regret it if we do not pull our fingers out and start to firm up that initial interest with a firm bid and soon.

  1. Saw him played against us at home/ away and he was not impressive. He couldn’t even beat Monreal until Sokratis was sent off

We don’t need a right-footed RW that can only race on the right side like him. We need inverted wingers that can make diagonal runs, cut inside and shoot with their stronger foot like Salah/ Mane:

  2. I have not watched much of him but I would rather we go all out for Pepe if we want to compete with the best. Very soon, Nicholas Pepe will be mentioned alongside the likes of Hazard and Bale

  3. Oh Arsenal! Always looking for bargain priced players. When will we start acting with ambition. When will we start going all out for players who will solve of problems. Not from chasing Suarez to signing Ozil, or from chasing Lacazette to signing Lucas Perez.

    1. Newsflash – Arsenal have made no contact!!!!!!!!

      1. That is the world we live in here. Everything is brought here even if the writer knows it is not true. Just like the 250k new contract for Laca and Aub and 75k for Guen. It is not like Raul will leak those info himself. Besides, must we buy every player we are linked with.

  4. With our reported budget we’ll have to shop in the championship or league one lol I actually wouldn’t mind Sarr, still raw but has plenty of pace and talent but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

  5. Kroenke is our owner so we have no alternative to chasing bargains and selling players to raise cash and free up wages for new players.

  6. If the board doesn’t want to put there money in,then why don’t they sell to someone who does and FOFF out of our football club we Will never win a premier league or champions league while the American fooll kroanke and son own our football club Ihate them both ??
