Arsenal rumour round-up – Mitroglou, Xhaka, Hummels & Oxlade latest

We travel to Sunderland this weekend in what could be an all-important match in both the relegation battle and the chase for CL football, but we thought we’d take a breather from the build up.

We are increasingly being linked with more and more targets by the day as the season draws to a close, and the latest claims are that two deals are being closed on.

The first is the most heavily reported, with Borussia Monchengladbach captain Granit Xhaka said to be an almost done-deal. Terms are now supposedly having been agreed ‘in principle’ ahead of the move, with just the fee to be thrashed out before the signing can be confirmed.

A deal for Kostas Mitroglou is also said to be going ahead, with the Greek striker having impressed on loan for Benfica this season. The Portuguese giants are keen on completing their own deal to sign him permanently this summer, but we are said to have held talks over a potential £5.5 Million deal.

Hummels is another heavily linked with a move to England, albeit a number of top English sides are believed to be keen. His father just poured fuel on the speculative fire by revealing they are considering their options.

The most surprising news for me however is that we have apparently offered Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to West Ham. The 22 year-old is still young and full of potential, and despite what many other fans think, still has a bright future to play. Our very own AdminOut also told me that he sees him as another Walcott, so clearly opinions are divided, but we all know Wenger is a fan.

Would Wenger really let Oxlade leave? What’s worse is that I believe we could actually sign former Fulham flop Mitroglou…
