Arsenal scouting TWO strikers to replace Giroud

It remains to be seen what happens with the current striker situation at Arsenal, with Olivier Giroud so far having made just four short appearances for the Gunners from the subs bench and Alexis Sanchez looking like a hard man to displace from his new centre forward position.

The big Frenchman’s problems will not get any easier as the season wears on either, with Danny Welbeck due back from his lengthy injury lay off in a couple of months. Giroud’s staute and hold up play may offer something different for Arsenal but his range is much more limited, so unlike Sanchez and Welbeck he cannot do much for us in a wide role.

All this is starting to look bad for Giroud’s future at the club and there are rumours that he could be a transfer target for some other big clubs including Juventus, so maybe Arsene Wenger is already thinking about him leaving in January.

If so it could explain the Arsenal transfer rumours this week linking us with not one but two new strikers. One is the young Porto and Portugal star Andre Silva. According to The Mirror the Portuguese football press has revealed that Arsenal are keen and have been scouting him this season, in which he already has five goals from the first seven league games.

The other striker is a little closer to home and the young French forward Moussa Dembele has been grabbing the headlines of late with some great performances for Scottish champions Celtic, including a brace in their 3-3 champions League draw with Man City and a hat-trick in the old firm win over Rangers.

The Mirror claims we are one of a number of big clubs that have sent scouts to watch this exciting and talented young striker, so is Wenger already lining up a replacement for Giroud?
