Arsenal set to table an offer for very impressive Serie A star

Arsenal are still reported to be keen on signing Torino defender Armando Izzo and are on the verge of tabling an offer in the region of €25 Million, according to the latest reports in the media.

We covered the clubs earlier interest in the 27-year-old and at that time the rivals to us signing the player was reportedly Manchester United. This time it is apparently Arsenal, Lazio and Everton.

This is one of those that is more about hope than reality.

Despite the reports that we are going to table a €25 Million offer, it is being said that his club is looking to offer him a new contract which would push his valuation up to between €35-€45 Million.

That basically puts him out of our price range and even at €25 Million would be a bit steep but I will say this, if Izzo can replicate his form from Serie A to the Premier League then he would be a huge asset for us.

Torino only finished Seventh last season but their defence was one of the best in Italy and Izzo was a major reason for that.

Hopefully, there is some substance to this speculation because of all the defenders that we have been linked with us, I would suggest this is one of the better ones.

  1. I don’t know

At 27, if he was that good he would probably be with Juventus, Inter, AC, Roma or Napoli

  2. “On the verge of tabling an offer”…
    Lool that is Arsenal…

  3. I’m sure many of you have read that Arsenal have submitted an offer of €30m for Saliba which is the asking price.Indeed a bid has been submitted but as I reported all this is useless if both clubs can’t come to an agreement regarding loaning him back or not.Fee was never a problem.Arsenal ain’t playing at all

An offer of £22m +add ons will be submitted for Kieran Tierney though many outlets are reporting £18m.As to when I cannot tell but this will do the trick.

If everything goes to plan we should be welcoming Saliba and Tierney soon though both moves aren’t done.

    1. Nothing on Izzo at the moment except the fact that we met his agent days ago as has been reported

      1. Saliba is coming but he’s going straight back on loan for a year.
Martinelli is coming very soon but will be in the U23 team unless he stars in the preseason games

        1. That condition is yet to be agreed upon whether it’s a year or 6 months.
Martinelli must have been promised first team chances because other top clubs were in for him.I doubt he came here this season fully be an U23 player.

  4. Izzo would be decent. However at 27 yrs old and +25m, no thanks!

  5. Roll on a week Saturday, so we can finally see an Arsenal XI in action (at Boreham Wood).. it’ll be mainly U23/U18’s.. remember last year – winning 8-0 & Auba getting a hat trick! The new kit will be on display too ?..I’m hoping it’ll be shown on Arsenal’s website..no Arsenal right now is pretty pants.. ? all these transfer rumours are doing my head in too! Hopefully this time next week things will be a whole lot clearer!!

    1. Will you be going to the game v Boreham Wood Sue and is anyone else going?

      1. No Declan, I’ll be watching online. How about you?

        1. Not definitely yet but it’s usually a day out for my family, me, my son and his son and hopefully my dad who’s 92.
          Four generations of Gooners !

          1. My dad still lives in Borehamwood, 5 minutes walk from the ground.

          2. 4 generations – wow!! I bet that’s a lush day out, Declan… well if you do end up going, I hope you all have a great time… and that we win (of course!) COYG – omg it’s been ages since I last wrote that ?

  6. On The Transfer Window Licking Scale, I give this one a 7 tongues out of 10 and if you`re wondering, a good rumour like Tierney is just 1 tongue rating meaning it`s a great rumour, whereas a 10 tongue rating would be something like Kroenke is going to sell his £500M ranch and invest it in bringing the dead back to life so we can buy George Best .

    ???????

  7. Well if we spend more than £20 million on a CB, I hope it’s better than the last time we spent that much on a CB

We spent £35 million on Mustafi

The £2 million on Holding was awesome though

  8. Arsenal have confirmed that Academy graduate Jordi Osei-Tutu will spend next season on loan with German second-tier outfit VfL Bochum.

    1. We are killing our youth players . we have no right backs and we are loaning the only fit one we have to a club that is not worthy enough to develop him . no disrespect intended .
Xavier Ameachhi is on the verge of leaving .
Rene Adeleide keeps Guendouzi on the bench in the french U21 team and we let him go . Nobody is even talking of Smith Rowe, We want to sign a player Martenelli who is not better than Bukayo saka or Nketiah . I dont Arsenal can ever change . Not even hearing anyone bid for Mustafi , Miki ,Ozil and co.
We cant do the same thing every year and expect a different result . I foresee Emery leaving Arsenal out of sheer frustration .MAn utd are looking at players like Bruno Fernandez , Harry Maguire ,Koulibably . we are speculating about Izzo . Even championship teams handle their business better than us .
If we want freebies there are players like Aribo from Charlton and MAx Aarons from Norwich that can be helpfull to our cause .

  9. He is not fast enough for the EPL and he would struggle with the pace. Anther Socratis imo. We need pacy Central defenders who can recover quickly even when beaten.

  10. Leeman

All this rumors about the comings and goings is the same nonsense we have every transfer window, and frankly, it’s getting boring, not to mentioned predictable. I bet Kroenke will at last moment decide to pump funds into the club, by then we will have to take what we get. Just get rid of those who don’t do justice to the batch, and get quality players. I still don’t get how we get rid of our star players, and keep those who don’t provide the quality we need.
