Il Corriere Fiorentino via Football Italia claims Fiorentina is looking to make the loan move of Lucas Torreira permanent after his impressive form.
The Uruguayan is not in the plans of Mikel Arteta and he has spent the last two seasons out on loan at Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina.
He is now a regular at the latter and the Florence club are looking to take up the option of making his transfer permanent.
Arsenal agreed to a €15m permanent transfer fee in the loan agreement that took him to the Italian club and the report says it is almost certain he would be signed now.
Just Arsenal Opinion
Torreira is a talented player and the only problem he has at Arsenal is that he isn’t the right fit for Mikel Arteta’s team.
The midfielder deserves to play regularly, and it is great to see him return to form at Fiorentina.
As he is now a cheerful man again, the transfer fee earned from his permanent transfer would go a long way to help Arsenal secure their targets, including Dusan Vlahovic.
The Gunners could reach an agreement with the Italians to remove Torreira’s transfer fee from the amount they need to pay to sign the Serbian striker.
The only prevailing issue is that DV has no earthly
interest in playing for AFC. His inner circle has
made it abundantly and transparently clear the
Serbian is looking to join a bigger club that has
serious CL ambition. Man City and RM have been
predictably mentioned at the top of his wish list.
It’s great to see that LT has rediscovered his form
and love for football again in Florence. I personally
always rated the fiery Uruguayan but understand
why it didn’t work out in NL. The £15M plus the
OTB figure on Guendouzi (£10M I believe) should
be enough to secure the signing of B Kamara
from OM. The young IMWO Frenchmen would be
a fantastic addition to the midfield in January.
Kamara would indeed be a great addition but apparently Man Utd are already in discussions with his agent.
Happy that Torreira is doing well in Florence. The guy was talented and hard working but it never clicked for him at Arsenal for various reasons. Best of luck Lucas.
