Arsenal should NOT consider any of our legends to replace Wenger

No ex-Gunner is ready to coach Arsenal yet By SK

Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Patrick Viera; these are all Arsenal heroes. They were part of the team that went a whole season without losing a game and they lifted Arsenal to the pinnacle of football during their time at the club. They are legends in their own right and deserve any accolade thrown at them but when it comes to coaching the same team they played for, it is a different ball game entirely!

Despite the difficulties being experienced by Arsenal at the moment, Arsenal remains a big club and big clubs are managed by big coaches who have paid their dues in the world of coaching. It won’t be befitting for a club like Arsenal if ex-players is allowed to coach the club just because they played for Arsenal! What is their coaching qualification? Have they coached any club before now? What are their achievements in the coaching world of football?

The aforementioned players have been into football management in some capacities for some time now but who amongst them can boast of leading a smaller club than Arsenal to football success in the recent past? If they have found it difficult finding and coaching a smaller club, what gives people the assurance that they will do well, as coaches of Arsenal? We can’t take that risk with them, not even now that the whole world feels it is time for Wenger to step down!

We all want Wenger to resign as coach of Arsenal season but do we wish he should be replaced with a coach who has no experience of managing a big club? I don’t think so! I will rather want Wenger to continue as coach of Arsenal, than watch an ex player mess up the team some more! Why are we linking them to Arsenal in the first place? Or has Allegri come out to say he wouldn’t love to coach Arsenal if given the opportunity?
