Arsenal still in market for a winger/striker – Niang or Coman?

So it looks like Unai Emery is going to set up Arsenal with two strikers in every game as it is being reported we are still in the market for another striker/winger. Every Gooner reckons that we really need a left-winger and I can see us getting more options if Welbeck and Perez are moved on shortly.

According to the Express, the player we are after is M’Baye Niang. They reported….

Arsenal were credited with serious interest in getting Niang on-board during his six-year spell at AC Milan.

And it seems his performances for Senegal at the World Cup have put him back on their radar.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Arsenal made contact with Torino concerning Niang.

And they apparently requested information on him, with a potential swoop on the cards.

Whereas the Sun believe that the Gunners are also checking out the Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman. Their report said…

ARSENAL boss Unai Emery is ready to offer £44million for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman, according to reports.

The 22-year-old star missed France’s victorious World Cup campaign because of injury, but is said to be recovering well….

..Coman, who signed a new deal with Bayern in December, was injured for almost three months last season because of ankle ligament damage, eturning only for a brief appearance in the German Cup defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

The former Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus forward signed permanently for Bayern last summer after two years on loan at the club.

It is not clear whether Bayern would be willing to sell, although £44m would be almost double what they paid for the forward.

So these are two very promising targets if we had to replace Welbeck. Which one would you prefer?

      1. Zaha can be our very own Sane, direct full of pace and power or instead we get Perisic. His deliveries into the box are world class. Uses both feet’s excellently

        1. …………….Auba
          …Iwobi……Mikki…….Zaha…

            Bring on Real Madrid!

            1. Yeah I’m loving you putting Iwobi in the side over Mesut Ozil.It must have been all the outstanding performances he produced last season that convinced you to do that. And then of course to be dropped to the bench by his country in the World Cup can only boost his ranking in the world of football.
It will be very interesting to see what Emery can do with Iwobi.I very very much doubt he will be an Arsenal player after next season if not before.Too many good players in front of him and too many good prospects waiting for their chance behind him.

              1. Phil , Call it an inspired hunch but something tells me you have been using sarcasm. Never used it my life, myself(he lied!!!) Personally, for someone who would play Iwobi instead of Ozil I would use something rather stronger. How about dynamite!

                1. It’s just incredible JF that anyone can see anything positive with Iwobi.Im all for youth being given a chance but in order to qualify you must have a certain level of talent.Alez Iwobi has ZERO TALENT.Hes probably a nice kid and he obviously tries his best.Unfortunately his best is just not good enough. He has plenty of game time last season but he was hopelessly out of his depth most of the time.Only Wenger would have kept him in the team because no other manager would have persevered with the player for as long as he was allowed.
Emery is nobody’s fool and will very soon see what the very vast majority do when he plays.
Do the boy a favour and get him to a club that matches his talent-somewhere like……………………………………………………..oh just get rid of him

                  1. Phil and jon, without even considering Ozil, as I believe he must be played centrally, how could anyone select Iwobi ahead of Lacazette. Emery must select both Aubameyang and Lacazette up front with one of them playing wide and Arsenal will blow most teams away. Iwobi has a long way to go to develop an end product and be a goal threat.
Against lesser teams at home I predict Emery will use Lucas Perez as a wide forward; again a far better player than Iwobi.

            2. @naija jollof
How can you put iwobi in the starting line up for arsenal, please enlighten us on the qualities that make iwobi a candidate for a starting spot. He should be loaned out to a smaller team the assessed after. You actually created two seperate line ups and iwobi is in both.. oh my god!! Wait mustafi is in both too? hahahahaha!!

      1. Hope this is not jock – are you serious having Nelson right now in Arsenal 1st team and expect to take on EPL big 4 and win?? Gladly Wenger is gone and no more projects or experiments

        1. Yes, I agree with gotanidea for once?, Nelson played right winger at B Wood (yeah not great opposition) but that front three of him Laca and Auba looked gooood.

        2. Yeah, like Chambers trying out a new position isn’t experimenting?
Emery hasn’t a clue, fancy trying this with professional footballers!
Next thing he’ll be trying out different formations… the man has no idea whatsoever Enagic, but of course it wasn’t Wenger or Emery who suggested this line up was it?

          1. What are pre season games for?No harm in tinkering with a few technical points with players. Its not as though they would not be willing to please the new manager.
Ken-I believe that with the form Calumn Chambers showed firstly with his loan for a year at Boro then we hen he got First Team game time last season we could just see the beginning of the player we all hoped we would see.He will get more and more opportunities this season and I really hope he makes it through. He seems a nice kid and the fact he was prepared to stay and fight for a place rather than sign for a lesser club is credit to both himself and the club.
And being coached as a CDM (obviously as a fill-in when needed will help him progress within the squad.

            1. Phil, I think Ken was displaying a sense of irony, if not sarcasm to make his point.
I agree wholeheartedly that as the new coach, Unai Emery should be using preseason to test and develop his players.

          2. Not sure Ken if you’re being sarcastic…i hope so otherwise il just put it down to.you being a complete fool who hasn’t got a clue …..lets go with the first one hey

  1. I’d prefer a left-footed winger, because Arsenal lack that type of player. Maybe Douglas Costa, Bailey or Malcom

Coman and Niang are right footed players. If Arsenal want to get another right footed winger, Adama Traore would be the better dribbler and cheaper than both of them

The new winger should possess the skills of the dribbling masters in World Cup. If Arsenal cannot get a dribbler as skillful as Mbappe, Hazard, Isco or Messi, they had better give their current players more chances

    1. @ gotanidea
There you go again about adama traore, terrible player and so is niang, both are nowhere near arsenal quality. Coman is a very good player although needs to improve on his output and i don’t see bayern selling him as he is ribery’s long term replacement. I do like leon bailey from bayern levekusen, he was brilliant last season but if there is any young player i would like, its julian brandt also from bayern levekusen, there aren’t many young player with so much quality with good decision making like him and i am convinced he will become worldclass. I can see man city getting him soon, they like players with supreme quality and can spend endlessly which is why they don’t have average players they are managing like we do with iwobi, mustafi, elneny, welbeck, bellerin etc.

      1. Haha so both Niang and Adama Traore are terrible but Coman is what a very good youngster?
No offence but I don’t see what Coman can do that both Niang and Asana Traore can’t.They all beat players very well but have shocking finishing and decision making particularly Coman and Traore. The only excuse is that Coman is 22 years but you see generally at that age you need to be showing some signs that you can be world class which Coman hasn’t done.
He’s just another dribbler and that’s what I see him being.I feel for him because if Arsenal fans are expecting him to produce the goods and rely on him so much this season then he’s really going to have a lot of pressure on him.

        1. @ kev
Am sorry kev, if you think coman isn’t better than niang and adama traore then there is nothing else to say. I never said coman was the finished article but atleast he has potential which i don’t see in niang and traore, thats what i meant. Don’t worry anyway, we won’t get him as bayern won’t sell so lets continue to enjoy iwobi together. Also, coman has shown more promise than traore and niang, just look at the current clubs they play for.

      2. I don’t think Man City would get Brandt, because they already have four skillful wingers. I’m also not convinced of his performance at World Cup

Adama Traore is like a rough diamond, like CR7 when he came to Man United. I believe Emery can bring the best out of him, because he is good with young Spanish speaking players

        1. Did you just say adama traore is like a diamond in the rough? Lol. You have to stop with this delusions man, your idea isn’t good.

    2. Niang,Adama Traore and Coman are not good enough.Im so glad Bayern don’t want to sell Coman to us.Lets not just buy for buying sake just because we don’t have a player like him.We need to spend our money on top quality not some overhyped players who fans continue expecting so much of.

      1. These are the kinds of that make me wonder whether arsenal fans are for real!!! Really coman is WORLDCLASS mark that and also is KOVACIC. get them and city is no where near our qualiyt

        1. WORLDCLASS !!!!!!! they have done nothing to be considered WORLDCLASS they are good but not world class , i hate the way so called fans overrated players of other teams and underrate ours , without knowing much about how to value a player’s ability.

          1. ?”World class” is an over used term often applied to players who are not even good internationals.

            1. Is Salah world class??? people like Mourinho and others did not know it but he proved it in one season.

Looking at a player’s style of play alone can tell you whether someone is destined for the big stage, just like how MARTIAL and DEMBELE who many fans crave about can never be world beaters.

I thought this was simple to see afterall.

      2. So kev, tell us arsenal fans which winger would you like, which winger isn’t overhyped? It still pisses me off you put coman in the same category as niang and traore.

    3. Left footed players are the sole reason why our team is unbalanced. Look at last season: Xhaka, Ozil, Wilshere in one team. No other team can use such nonsense team selections.

  2. I saw Niang at the world cup and am not impressed at all, Coman will do for me, although i dont believe all this rumours, but for the purpose of the article

  3. We aren’t getting either. We have 4 strikers and 3 can play out wide (Welbeck Perez, Auba, Laca). I believe we are done in this window.

  4. Arsenal must sign this players MEYER, COMAN ,GOMES ,N’ZONZI and MALCOM, Sell this players PERES ,CAMPBELL and WELBECK.

    1. Meyer has so far priced himself out of the market, but would be a good ACM.
I agree with Dory, that Arsenal are now well equipped up forward, with Nelson and Nketiah as up and comers in addition to Aubameyang, Lacazette, Perez and Mkhitaryan. Welbeck may be sold unless Emery’s shooting practice shows results.

  5. The coffers are empty.Arsenal have sell first. Welbeck Mustafi and Ramsey ( Ramsey not signing means him asking £200 per week)

  6. Emery has brought in more intelligence by getting Torreira
But we still lack enough ambition

The quality of most of the players we have signed or thinking about signing are not good enough to compete with the top teams

City got Mahrez (they already have Aguero, De bruyne, Silva, Sterling, Jesus)
    City also after Thiago
Liverpool could be going for Draxler or Fekir
    United after Bonucci
    Chelsea after Golovin

We are after Andre Gomes. Ramsey is better than Gomes in all areas (attack, defense, passing). That’s why Barcelona are happy to get rid of him.

We haven’t sold many players also. We could raise funds for better players

Sokratis, Leno, guendozi, and the possible addition of Gomes, Coman or Niang may be an improvement to what we have but won’t be good enough.

    1. Andre Gomes is way better than Ramsey – sadly, barcelona is overcrowded in the middle same as when sanchez came to arsenal

  7. leno
    bel sok mavro kolas
    torriera xhaka ramzy
    mihki ozil
    auba
this is our strangest 11 base on what we have on ground

    1. I believe that Auba and Laca will play upfront together this season. So maybe drop Mhiki It’s a good problem to have.

      1. What about if one of them get injured?? we really need squad depth same as Liverpool and City

        1. ?What Arsenal need from Emery and the players is the development of a champion team, not a team of champions.

  8. Why does Niang’s name keep popping up, is this the same Niang. He’s s**t, I’d keep Welbeck over this piece of crap. No point bringing in a player like that, here for the wages and to sit on sidelines. I’d prefer someone who can add something that we might be lacking with, an aerial specialist like Fellaini would’ve been good, or Mandzukic. But we should be looking at wide players, CM, and CB, you can always be stronger when it comes to the spine, that’s why I say I’d still look at CB and CM. Love to know what Emery’s thoughts are on our youngsters who played. Adelaide scored again, Nketiah too. Nelson has an opening with the first team, Niles can become direct competition if he impresses. Not keen on CC playing CDM, CB is a specialist area. CC was looking confident, managers like having players with flexibility, but I’d prefer if he kept CC at CB and used someone else to fill in the holes.

  9. I have watched arsenal play for over 3 to 4 seasons and we miss the nasri with which we lost some years back,a natural winger of his calibre.kingsley coman is the only one to help arsenal beat the likes of man city with a 3-1 score line, unai go get him,we want our arsenal back
