Arsenal thought they would win until the end

It is still a mystery how Arsenal lost to West Brom after being totally in control for the whole 90 minutes and having nearly three quarters of the possession. Anything that could go wrong did go wrong, and it seemed inevitable that Santi Cazorla would slip up when he took that penalty.

Petr Cech was impressed though that the Gunners kept attacking and fighting for the win despite having no luck whatsoever. “I think we don’t want to take credit from West Brom but across the 90 minutes we were the better side.” Petr said on Arsenal.com. “We had chances and a lot of opportunities and we were unlucky as we scored an own goal. Apart of that, we were on top of them and looked like the side that was going to win the game, even in the second half.

“I thought when we had the penalty that we would still have a chance to search for the third goal but it was one of those games where it was not going our way. But I like our reaction and although everything went against us a bit, we kept going until the last minute and were still creating opportunities. We have to regroup and continue working.”

Cech and his team-mates only have to wait until tomorrow to make things right, and a convincing win over Zagreb will pt us all back in a good mood, assuming that Bayern Munich beat Olympiakos tha is……

  1. Don’t worry about B.Munich, They need to win against the Greeks, to guarantee finishing top and they will.
(But we are not capable of beating Olympiakos by 2 clear goals away from home)

The truth is … Wenger didn’t take the first two champions league games seriously, his game plans failed as per usual and the damage has already been done!
So why bother with it now?
Let it Go…. And rest all our key players!!

  2. Here’s a thought..i know Wenger does not like the Jan. transfer window but how about bringing in Lavezzi from PSG..His contract expires in the summer and is valued at 12 million Euros..he is not getting any game time at PSG either..he is cup-tied though and if we get him he can make the right wing his own or he can provide cover for Alexis on the left..Also try Leicester’s resolve with a cheeky bid for Vardy..I would get Vardy just for his work rate alone..his goals are a bonus !!
