Arsenal to go for transfer of contract rebel Lukaku?

It is only a matter of time before we start getting lots of Arsenal transfer rumours linking us with a summer transfer bid for Romelu Lukaku, after it was revealed by Sky Sports and other sporting websites that the Belgium international star has rejected the new contract that is being offered to him by his current club Everton, so I thought I would get in early and ask whether you Arsenal fans out there would like the Gunners to go for this powerful, prolific and Premier League proven striker?

First of all I would like to point out that the Lukaku situation is far from clear cut. Just a week or so ago there were reports declaring that he was about to sign and his agent had even suggested as much, so there may just be a little sticking point which will soon be resolved.

I personally think that the forward may be waiting to see if the Toffees qualify for either the Europa League or the Champions League next season. It may even be a question of whether Ronald Koeman is still going to be their manager next year, with Arsenal being one of the possible moves for the Dutchman, along with Barcelona.

But klet´s say the Belgian does not sign a new deal. That would tell me that he is looking for a move to a bigger club and the Gunners would fit the bill. We may be in dire need of some firepower as well if the rumours about Alexis Sanchez leaving are true.

Even if they aren´t we may want an upgrade on Olivier Giroud at the end of the season, so do you think that Lukaku is the right transfer target for Arsenal_ Which other forwards would you like us to go for?

  5. Monaco team, Young, lot talent, guts, good football.let’s go and raid them starting from the caoch.MBAPPE/ Bakayoko/ mendy/ Silva. sidibbi but for wenger there is nobody better than the bunch he got in arsenal FC.

  6. Arsene can sadly no longer make a prolific squad either from young players or from good players costing a lot of money as this season proves again. And Leicester, AGAIN, show that if you sack the manager it can be good for you. We need change. I understand people are greatful for what Arsene did for us in his early days, but we now need a fresh head to move forward.

    1. Tearing City apart?
      The score was 6-6 🙂
      Whats with “away” goals anyway?
That game at 6-6 should have gone to penalties.

      1. “Away goals” encourage attacking football, which I think is a positive thing. I wonder what odds for Leicester going the furthest out of all the English teams. I should have bet!

        1. Not sure if away goals rule does encourage attacking football, all it means is that if the away team nick a goal early on they just defend for the rest of the game….

      2. Can Arsenal score 3 away goals at Etihad, look at the first two goals Man City was torn apart like paper.
That team can hit the current Arsenal team 6 nill

    1. Bayern succumb to pressure as well. Out of the top 4 in Europe they are the weakest mentally. Either they thrash Leicester or they collapse and lose by a solitary goal or something.

  7. Let me give you a head start if you’re predicting the draw on Friday. Barcelona, Bayern and Real won’t be playing each other in the quarter final. They’ve avoided each other at that stage for 6 straight seasons (money talks). The draw for these stages are done inhouse Nyon, easier to fix.

  8. That guy Henry winter journalist is right up Guardiola’s back side. Earlier in the season he says we need Guardiola in this league when CIty were struggling. Now he is saying give him time. In other words this guy wont criticisize Guardiola.

  9. I can see Leicester beating everyone but the big three Spanish teams. Mostly because the others may crack under pressure from the occasion. Same as Sevilla the other day.

  10. When Monaco beat us in CL, I was hoping that Wenger would at least sign Kondogbia from them. He didn’t even try

When we finished second to Leicester, I was hoping that Wenger would try to sign Kante from them. He didn’t even try.

I am so fed up with Wenger.
He is so clueless and stubborn in his ways

  11. Problem with this article is that Lucaku is looking for a club whose ambition matches his own. Enough said.
