Arsenal to have another go at signing former top Premier League star

Philippe Coutinho was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal in the last two summer transfer windows.

The Brazilian enjoyed the best time of his career while he was on the books of Liverpool in the Premier League.

Since then, he has been struggling to recapture that form at his present club Barcelona.

The Spaniards are keen to offload him, and Sports via Sport Witness claims Arsenal still has an interest in him.

The report claims the Gunners have a void in their creative midfield that the former Inter Milan midfielder can fill.

Just Arsenal Opinion

Arsenal is now too far ahead in its development to make moves for players struggling at other clubs.

The Gunners have been signing young and impressive players in the transfer market recently and have reaped the rewards of that.

If they continue in that vein then the team will continue to improve and progress in the years to come.

However, signing a flop like Coutinho will take us back several steps in our development.

It is understandable that rumours keep linking us with a move for him, but there is no space for the Brazilian in the current Arsenal squad and there shouldn’t be in the near future.

  1. If he’d lower his wage demands ,I don’t think it is actually if we get him. We need his type in our midfield. Pretty sure SMR will learn a lot from him.

  2. The rumor that refuses to die. This has more shelf life than that old chestnut Benzema rumor to Arsenal.

Coutinho is a dud now, he faded and lessened ever since leaving Liverpool. Why on earth would we want deadwood wage leeches?

Why help Barca offload a dud?

Silly rumor, no legs, no prayer of a chance.

    1. Durand, spare a thought for poor AD MARTIN. His unrelenting task is to search high and low for daft rumours that he can than say, even himself, that we will not be interested in them.

What a soul destroying life that must be!
