Arsenal given MORE derby incentive after Man City fluff lines

Arsenal fans found out to our cost just how well organised and frustrating Middlesbourough can be, as Aitor Karanka´s team held the Gunners to a draw a couple of weeks ago to halt our growing momentum and stop us going clear at the top of the Premier League.

The newly promoted team worked extremely hard and Arsenal were unable to break them down, but they did not offer too much going the other way, so when Man City took the lead against Karanka´s men just before half time at the Etihad stadium today, not too many folk would have expected anything but a home win.

To ne fair to them they did have plenty of chances before and after Aguero´s goal and even though the on loan Arsenal defender Calum Chambers and his new team mates managed not to concede again the result looked certain. Until injury time that is, when Boro stunned Pep Guardiola and City with a goal to rescue an unlikely point.

With Liverpool not playing until after Arsenal tomorrow and with our goal difference currently better, today´s result means that a win over Tottenham in the derby will put us clear at the top of the Premier League, at least until Klopp´s team face Watford and hopefully for the rest of the week.

Will this extra incentive make Arsenal even more determined to mash the spuds tomorrow?

Bob.

  1. Middlesbrough did exactly same thing they did against us which was sit back and defend tight. Mancity played better in the first half but switched off at times in the second half. Thought Chambers had a good game but Valdez kept them in the game.

Chelsea win against Everton and they top until we play tomorrow. We win tomorrow and we stay top till after the Intl break. Come on boys..

  2. Everyone seems to keep on eye on wilshere progress. There is hardly any talk of performance of chambers in a team that’s now known for resolute defending against top teams. Will be interesting to see chambers stats over his last few games. Think credit to arsene for getting the loan destinations perfect for once after a series of mess.
asano after first games has gone off radar. Only mistake this time was with Jon toral. guess he is having miserable life there with Granada messing up unexpectedly

  3. Chelsea top of the table as of now is temporary. I don’t expect Everton will finish this game without greeting a goal or 2 on the score sheet. A win for us tomorrow over the Spuds likely to be a 3-0 win or more for us will see us pulling down Chelsea from the top of the table. And this will happen. What’s the problem with Everton defending that has caved in and have conceded 4 goals already with still 30 minutes left to play for in the game?

    1. Yeah folks were bragging after we beat them but look at where they are now. Better goal difference, now we have no choice but to win the derby by as much goals as possible. Those dropped points will count for something in the end, especially the ones we drop at home.

  4. Hats off to them chelsea are absolute class at the moment complete performances and no Europe they were my bet from the beginning especially with the Kante buy best d.m in prem along with thier rock solid squad anyway.

Must win tmrw let’s see if it’s the usual bottlers or if we finally have turned a corner

  5. OT:Surely I LIKE That 3-5-2 formation chelsea are deploying recently, hard to break the defence and goals coming from anyone….
