With Dowman being ahead of him, I don’t know where he fits in.
Would keep him and get rid of Madeuke who was a complete waste of 60 million .
I agree with the fee being a waste DanK, but in my opinion he did a job last season.
Nothing spectacular but he held an end (cricket terms) in Saka’s absence.

Agreed. Madueke is not good enough and won’t get any better IMO.
And I think he has the potential to get way better. He just needs coaching!!!! We have nobody (Dowman excepted) who can take players on like him. He just needs guidance, where to finish things. I think the penny will drop.
Agree with Dan Kit, I’d have Dowman and Nwaneri ahead of Madueke in the pecking order, another Chelsea flop on the cards.

If we lock in a buy back clause I would not 100% against it. Dowman is on a more rapid trajectory even though his minutes have to be managed, and our expectations have to be realistic.
And thats the problem for Nwaneri.
Don’t you think at 16 it’s too early to tell if Dowman can be a generational talent? Similar things were said about Nwaneri and other academy players and I worry that expectations are over egged and development tails off. We all know how kids at school can be top of the class only to slow down with the slow starters overtaking them a couple of years later. No guarantees and with Arteta and the coaching team watching on, I’d say they are better placed imo.

The article states it is for a loan deal (not sale). I am not against this. Dortmund is a good place as the Bundesliga is also a physical and pacy league like PL. He could come back as the finished article.
Re: Madueke.
I would like to judge him in the 2nd season.
IGL, Dortmund would be my choice for Nwaneri to go on loan to.
I can take them loaning him, but we need to then give him more of a chance on his return. What’s the point of the academy if we don’t use it.
I know not every player will make it, but there’s no doubt Nwaneri is a very good player. He showed it when given a run in the side. For me there’s nothing worse than seeing a talent come through, only for some other club to then benefit from Arsenal’s hard work with said player.
I’d said it last season that the kid has (maybe) bad advisors – he ought to have just kept his head down, been patient and kept his head down to training… instead we hear he’d been knocking on Arteta’s door insisting on more playing time. It works for some but hasn’t for him. Regardless he can find success elsewhere its just how things pan out sometimes. He’s likely going to be a success but perhaps it won’t be at AFC. Good look to him.

The departure of De Zerbi from Marseille exposed Nwaneri. Generally speaking Arsenal academies don’t produce world class players. Outwitted by Spanish academies. Even I doubt Dowman’s
A year on loan will help him. Look how loaning out Saliba improved him.
Problem will be where he fits in exactly in our set up.
