Arsenal to take on star-studded MLS team including Drogba & Kaka

Arsenal take on a MLS All-Star team on July 27, which will include names such as Didier Drogba, Kaka and Andrea Pirlo.

The Gunners are on their way to Australia currently, where they will head to the Sydney to take on both Western Sydney Warriors and Sydney as part of their Australian tour, before jetting off to France, America and then Norway.

When arriving in the US they will take on an MLS All-Star in San Jose, which has all but one been voted for by a number of fans, and includes some former big names in Europe, as well as some emerging talents from within the American top division. The one inclusion who was not selected because of the vote is former Barcelona forward David Villa, who was included following over 800,000 goals having been scored on FIFA using the striker.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports on Wednesday 27 July, less than two weeks before the start of the Premier League season.

Goalkeeper: Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union)

Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Laurent Ciman (Montreal Impact), Keegan Rosenberry (Philadelphia Union)

Midfielders: Kaká (Orlando City SC), Darlington Nagbe (Portland Timbers), Andrea Pirlo (New York City FC), Giovani dos Santos (LA Galaxy),

Forwards: Didier Drogba (Montreal Impact), Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), David Villa (New York City FC – AT&T/EA SPORTS™ ‘More Than a Vote’ Challenge)

We should have the majority of our team back from international duty for this match, and it could be the first opportunity to see the bulk of our first-team playing before the league campaign begins.

With any luck we will have added another two players to our current squad, and will hopefully get to see our new striker in action!
