Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – Draxler, Koziello, Manolas

We are months away from the next transfer window, but that doesn’t stop the newspapers from linking Arsenal with moves.

Julian Draxler was believed to have handed in a transfer window during the previous window, only for a move to fail to materialise, and his agent has now insisted that the German international winger will definitely leave his club in the following summer.

“Max Allegri had spoken to Draxler, they were in sync and there was an immediate rapport between them,” Parisi said.

“Wolfsburg have strong owners, but unfortunately for the German fans, everyone wants to leave there. Over the summer Draxler was on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain, who had offered nearly €65m (£59m).

“He will definitely leave Wolfsburg at the end of the season. He would’ve gladly run to join Juve and is the ideal for Allegri.

“I repeat: Draxler will leave, but whether or not Juventus are interested again is another matter.

“I think the Bianconeri can still spend big money, as their revenue is close to that of the top European clubs.

“The very real profit made on Paul Pogba will have an effect on their balance sheets for the next few years, allowing Beppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici to make more investments.”

Another creative spark in Vincent Koziello is next on our radar, with the 20 year-old claimed to be in line to replace Santi Cazorla, whose contract is set to expire next summer. The Nice wonderkid is into his second year as a regular first-team star, and looks a bright talent for the future.

Per Mertesacker looks a near certainty to leave when his contract also expires at the end of the season, and Kostas Manolas is being touted as his potential replacement. In my opinion however, we already have four centre-backs in our squad, and with Calum Chambers and Krystian Bielik also likely to be available, we are hardly short of numbers for central roles.

It’s obviously too early in the campaign to be considering making moves in the market, and I doubt there is too much behind these reports.

Can you see us signing any of the trio? Would we need to replace Per next summer?
