Arsenal transfer rumour round-up – Suarez, Dzeko, Mkhitaryan, Sweeney

Arsenal can no longer win a trophy this season, and only need two points from their remaining two matches to confirm their place in the top four. This leaves very little to get overly excited about this season, so why not look to the next one!

This summer SHOULD be an active transfer window, with at least four senior squad members likely to leave the club. But who could be coming in to replace them?

We are claimed to have enquired about the potential availability of Denis Suarez, but he is said to be a target for Barcelona also. The Catalan giants only sold him last summer, and are claimed to have already said they will be triggering him buyback clause of £2.4 Million. The 22 year-old looks an exciting young player, but he likely dreams of making it with his former club…

Edin Dzeko is another name linked with our club, at least that is according to Turkish-Football.com. The striker’s contribution for Manchester City previously was seriously under-rated, and I would love to see him in our famous red shirt. Besiktas and Liverpool are also said to be interested, although there is still the chance he will stay with Roma beyond the summer.

Former Republic of Ireland youth international Ryan Sweeney is also being linked with a possible move to the Emirates. The 19 year-old is a 6 ft 4 inch centreback who is impressing in League Two, and is said to be under the watch of our scouts currently.

And last but certainly not least, Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is claimed to be refusing to sign a new contract with his club as he seeks a new challenge. The Armenian record goalscorer has 23 goals for his club this season, as well as a HUGE 32 assists in 50 appearances. How could you say no to his arrival? Micky has only one year left on his current deal…

If reports prove to be true about Alexis wanting the leave the club, Henrikh could well be the perfect replacement. Could he even be an improvement?

  1. Arsenal fc club should do anything and everything in its power, to keep both alexis and ozil if they want away, If the club is serious about challenging for the title and building for the future!Coyg!

    1. Buying mikhtaryan will help to keep them as they would form a world class attacking trio and would be attractive for any world class striker. He is a hybrid of Sanchez n ozil as he does both scoring n assisting

Mkytarian would replace Theo n rrosicky

  2. Key word in this headline: RUMORS.

Translation: Made-Up nonsense to entice readers desperate for a new season to start before the current one is finished.

    1. Hahaha……….Then they added something sweet and enticing on the List in the form of 19yr old “Sweeney”

  3. Buy Aboumeyang, Mahrez, Kante and a solid defender like Benatia or Hummels if possible

Sell Per, Giroud, Wallcot,Scezny, Campbell(he wont get games)

    Let go: Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky,

    1. It’s all very well saying buy Aubemeyang, Mahrez etc but why would they want to join us when the likes of barca and RM will be after them as well…

      1. It seems that common sense is somewhat lacking in some fans. Arsenal FC is not as great of a destination for players as you may think. Imagine being Hummels/Aubameyang. After finishing a season at Dortmund, you decide that you want to move on. There is interest from top teams in Germany/Spain. Why would they decide to take a step down (IMO) and come to Arsenal and probably still spend the season battling for 4th, considering they are some of the best players in the world in their position? Mahrez and Kante are more likely, although I think that they may spend one more season at Leicester, considering they’ve just won the Premier League. All in all, if there are signings (and this isn’t really guaranteed with Wenger) then there won’t be a Chelsea/Utd style squad overhaul like some of you think. It will probably be an Elneny type signing as well as a few future ‘wonderkids’. Truth hurts. Enjoy the emotional rollercoaster that is the Arsenal transfer window while you can, because it will likely end in disappointment.
