Arsenal transfer swoop for `new Vieira` at risk of Hijack?

I thought this Arsenal transfer rumour was all but a done deal, as it was being widely reported in the last couple of weeks that Arsene Wenger had secured the agreement of the player and agreed a fee with his club, Legia Warsaw, but apparently the Gunners could still be in danger of losing out on Krystian Bielik according to a Metro report.

The 16-year old central midfielder has been likened to our former captain Patrick Vieira so it is little wonder that Wenger’s interest was sparked. And the teenager and his parents have apparently been to London to check out the club and the city and all was supposedly in place after we agreed a transfer fee of around £1.6 million.

But the latest report claims that nothing is yet sealed and the Serie A club are preparing to make it a two horse race with their own offer. The Italian club have apparently set their director of football Walter Sabatini on to see if they can hijack the deal and persuade the talented young player to choose the Italian capital over the English one.

Roma and their manager Rudi Garcia are really becoming a bit of a nuisance to Arsenal and Wenger after they apparently beat us to the Greek defender Kostas Manolas in the summer. Let’s hope that we win this one!

    1. Boy! The rate at which articles are flying into this site is phenomenal….. Barely even comment on one before another arrives….. Now i’m caught in the middle….. Don’t even know if to say Admin “Keep it Up” or “calm down a bit” ….. L()L

  1. We dont need to waste our money on ‘future’ talent, hes better of in Italy for a few years then lets snatch him up if hes still performing well.

Would much rather see wenger waste money on a player that will play in the 1st team and challenge some of our underperformers. Not someone to play in 2-3 years time.

    1. Guy let stop the neagatives, doomes comments,we have to put pressure by any mean possible to force the old stingy to spend the money in this window,al; the fans jhave to stand up and not accept no more the foolishness of Wenger to ignore the call to fill the needed positions.
wenger has to man up and act or it s time for a revolution inside Arsenal.

    2. “I’m happy with the signings but we still need a physical presence with prodigious ability like Vieira or Petit.” – Arsene Wenger.

Going by that statement which he made last summer, it is safe to say that not only does he like Viera-type players, he just might be looking to get one in.

But yes, there are 1000 reasons to be cautiously optimistic about that.

  2. If I were a young talent I would be worried about our injury stats. Would love to get him but don’t blame him for choosing another huge club.

  3. OT: Wenger believes too much rotation destabilises a team, is this hes excuse for not rotating enough or substituting the right person at the right time?

I do no believe statisticly that this is true what arsene says and quite clearly not rotating has got us nowhere and if this is apart of hes game plan to make 1 team work well together then so far so good wenger. Look at our injury list so far that you have caused from burning players out/overplaying them to the point of injury.

    Well done.

    WKB!?

  4. Part of me hopes we don’t get him, we have some good youngsters who are looking to be decent box to box midfielders, I would hope that Wenger can find the next ‘Gilberto’ rather than the next Vieria… as I believe Ramsey can be that guy, he did it last season and just needs to consistantly get it again. Ramsey was putting in the tackles AND getting forward, that was what Vieira was all about.

  5. Wenger is too honest with his targets. He told Manolas he would be third choice, could not guarantee first team football, not be a top earner and have to live in overpriced “boring” hampstead.

Roma told him he would be club captain, player/manager, paid 6000000million lira (£5) and they’d put him up in the consuls palace on the palatine!

On a side note we dont need a 16 yr old, we need CARVALHO. And any half-decent centre back so Monreal never has to enter our 6 yard box again.

CARVALHO is the key for us to go from 3rd/4th to realistic challengers.
