Arsenal transfers – Cech and Perez staying and Ramsey unaffected by speculation

With most of Arsenal’s transfers in already completed, the focus is now on which players will be trimmed from our bloated squad. Petr Cech and Lucas Perez were mooted as possible departures, but both of those have now been discounted. Perez was rumoured to be a target for Lazio, but his agent has denied this and said his client is fully ready for a season with the Gunners.

Protio Sport have announced: “It’s nothing believable, they invent things. Lucas wants to triumph at Arsenal, he signed there with that intention.

“Lazio is a great team, but Arsenal are also. Lucas is in Singapore with his team preparing for a new season that we wish would be a great season. We have not talked to Lazio for months.”

Petr Cech himself has made it clear he is staying as well, when he told reporters: “I have a contract with Arsenal. I am concentrating on this season, on the competition between the goalkeepers because we have plenty of options. I’m doing my best to show to the manager that I can be in the starting lineup when the season starts. That’s my aim and as for the speculation, I don’t really follow it.”

As for Aaron Ramsey, his future is still up in the air, but according to Cech, it is not affecting his training and form in the slightest. Petr said: “That’s a private matter for the club and the player. Obviously we would like to keep all the best players with us. Hopefully his situation will be sorted out as quickly as possible. It’s more for the player that he has the feeling that his situation is resolved and he can purely concentrate on the game. It’s been two or three weeks since Aaron started training, he’s been in top form, working really hard, so we can see it doesn’t affect him at all. As I said, it’s better for him if the situation is resolved quicker, we will see.”

We will need to see very quickly as time is running out fast. Hopefully his attitude in training means that he is confident that he can agree a deal with Arsenal. If he decides against staying it would be a blow to the start of Emery’s rein. Fingers crossed!

  1. Wanna see Leno’s arrival effect on Cech’s performance and what Perez can do as a right winger

If Ramsey thinks he can triple his current salary by doing Ozil’s stunt, I believe Arsenal would sell him, because they have got younger British CMs already

    1. We have accepted a bid for the permanent transfer of Jeff Reine Adelaide to Angers. He will have an “Arsenal” clause in his contract which means Angers have to accept any bid from Arsenal as long as it matches any other bid they accept.

      1. If true it was a good call by John Fox. He said a while back that he didn’t see Adelaide having a future with us so expects him to go/fail. Personally I thought he was as bright looking as any of our others when in form, and believed he’d make strides, but not to be it seems.

  2. I want Perez to stay. He is a better option on the right. 433 formation. We need a big squad to challenge for both Europa league and EPL. Top four should not be the target. Winning the EPL and Europa league should be our aim. We have the best Attack in the league. Play a 433 formation. Auba Lacazette And Perez. Midfield 3 of Ozil, Ramsey/Xhaka and Torreira. Mhkhitaryan to Rotate with Perez on the right. Quick attacking and high tempo game. We have a chance of winning the EPL next season

    1. Yeah I believe that is the formation and line-up we would see from Emery, because he used 4-3-3 at PSG and against Boreham Wood

Unless a new winger comes in

  3. Emery will win us the premier league title this season and also the Europa league…once again remember i said it here first…premier league don’t know what will hit them this season…they would be shocked by the improved tactics of Emery and his understanding of our squad…he has won in Spain and France…he would also win in England.. His hunger for titles will help us greatly…Emery and Arsenal is a match made in heaven…….all hail Emery..the messiah is here to bring so much success

  4. Off topic guedes rejected us. I’m glad he did cos he is not exceptional. The only person that impress me in Valencia is Rodrigo and we are already OK in his position

  5. We have accepted a bid for the permanent transfer of Jeff Reine Adelaide to Angers. He will have an “Arsenal” clause in his contract which means Angers have to accept any bid from Arsenal as long as it matches any other bid they accept.

    1. At least we might need him back at some point in the near future. The deal seems too good if Angers can accept

  6. No one has realised yet, we are in the ?for a number of reasons.
It looks like the 50m budget is true with Torreira fee being paid over 3 years
No one will buy Ustanov shares, who will pay so much to have No control
Eventually Kronkie will own the shares and the company will be private. We will have no idea who/where/what the club buys sells or spends

And just a thought if Ustinov goes to Everton they will become a real force

  7. I can’t believe that from 2007-2011 we were the 3rd richest club in the world….what happened to my arsenal??..how come we have fallen to sixth all of a sudden… God help my arsenal..build a better future us the present fans and for the little ones and unborn gunners coming behind… God bless arsenal

    1. Stan Kroenke arriving, David Dein departing, and Wenger losing-touch with reality. That’s what happened.

  8. I still doubt this current squad, Emery can’t just let everybody stays ,is like his just trying to prove he is better than Wenger, thought he can utilize the weak folks Wenger left behind.
without a natural wide man and a proper Cb I can’t see him competing for Epl.

    1. What did people like you expect, 20 players out of Wenger’s main 25 all to get sold. Bring in 20 world class players and sorted, this looks easy type stuff. For one thing, he doesn’t know what he has yet and they’re mostly all international players. Some of them will earn their place, some will be in the shop window, and some will be neither here nor there. If you watch football surely you have some markers to go by. We are not Madrid or City, so you shouldn’t expect that kinda infux of new faces. Managers arriving at new clubs, usually say something to the squad and more or less every manager says it. “I will be fair and I will give everyone a chance to perform to my expectations, I will ask certain things of them and they must give me everything they have so we can be better as a team together. So far he’s identified gaps in the team, he opened one up by the sale of Wilshere. He rates Ramsey which am guessing allot of people like yourself fail to see the logic in. If you watched PSG play enough times, you would see why he likes Ramsey.

  9. Lol
    I laugh in Greek
Ramsey is jess a clown that found himself at Arsenal.
Like Wilshere who shows glimpses of world class act during his early years, hope u can see where he ends up.
Wenger jess gave hope for bunch of craps who Arsenal shirt does not suit the chance to wear it.
Imagine a sh**t like Ramsey holding Arsenal to Ransome, that shows incapability of the club to make decisions.
but if in ur head u thought everyone deserves a second chance then u are still living in the dream

  10. I am more worried about the reports saying Emery would like to build the team around Ramsey.
I think he is a good player, not great, and he often gets injured, so building around him seems like a bad idea.
If he stays, fine, just don’t pay over the top to make it happen. He wouldn’t leave a huge gap in our team.

  11. Think Ramsey’s as good as gone. If can’t agree contract by now – see little chance.

Arsenal must sell – but he needs replacing!
