Arsenal have been urged to lower their transfer demands for Fabio Vieira, with reports suggesting that one of the interested clubs is prepared to walk away if the price is not reduced.
The arrival of Viktor Gyökeres signalled the end of a busy transfer flurry for Arsenal in July, during which six players were officially unveiled. The Swede was the most high-profile signing, with Arsenal spending close to £200 million so far this summer. While they are still expected to dip back into the market, player sales are considered essential before any more arrivals can be finalised.
Stuttgart prepared to walk away
A player heavily linked with a departure is Vieira, with West Ham and Stuttgart among those monitoring his situation. However, Stuttgart are reportedly ready to end negotiations if Arsenal do not lower their demands.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are holding out for £25 million in order to recoup as much of their initial investment as possible, while Stuttgart are only willing to pay around £17 million plus add-ons. The report adds that the German side could walk away if no compromise is reached, which would cause talks to collapse.
This comes after the Portuguese midfielder was left out of Arsenal’s opening-day squad against Manchester United. Vieira missed pre-season after playing deep into the previous campaign but has since returned to full first-team training.
Vieira’s Arsenal career so far
Vieira spent last season on loan at Porto, where he made 42 appearances, scoring five goals and providing six assists. His performances suggested he could have earned a permanent stay, but Porto were not in a financial position to make a deal happen.
His time at Arsenal has been marred by inconsistency and injuries, with the midfielder struggling to adapt to the physical demands of the Premier League.

I don’t really see anyone paying £25m for Vieira. West Ham were supposed to be interested so, hopefully, Arsenal may be able to start an auction to push the price over the £17m in the report. That said, I’m sure that there must be alternatives to him around so, in the end, it could well come down to take “less or no sale”.

This is a no brainer, cut our loss and seal the deal, that’s salvaging half his reported cost.
It is not unique to have hit and miss in the market, but at some point we have to stop the hemorrhaging
To be very sincere it looks amateurish the way lose players for little or nothing. We need to fix up.
Players likely Noorgard, Merino etc will leave for free at the end of their contract just like Jorginho and Partey. And it is not looking good for our future transfer plans.
Take the deal, but add a sell on percentage like we have with other low offers.
Hopefully Vieira will be successful, and a future sale from Stuttgart will allow us to recoup some money and get closer to the 25 million Arsenal want.
