Arsenal v Brighton – Charlie Nicholas gives his predicted scoreline

Former Gunner Charlie Nicholas sees the game against Brighton as a great opportunity.

Charlie Nicholas loves to comment on everything Arsenal related and his latest column for Sky Sports covers the Arsenal v Brighton Premier League clash on Thursday evening.

Charlie feels this game presents a great opportunity for his former club and Freddie Ljungberg. I make him right on that.

He is still confused as to why Freddie selected Shkodran Mustafi. He also cannot understand why David Luiz is in the team or why Chambers is played out of position. He also digs out Sokratis and Granit Xhaka. In fact, we covered some of his comments here.

With regards to the Brighton game, the former Celtic ace reckons it will be another tense night but Arsenal will prevail.

Nicholas is going for an Arsenal win by a margin of 3-1, so no clean sheet but all three points.

He does not actually preview the game in depth. He touches on how Brighton play out from the back but that is about it really.

This is a must-win game for Freddie if he wants to have any hope of landing the job on a permanent basis. The Swede has been helped with the news that Hector Bellerin is fit. However, Dani Ceballos remains out.

There may be starts for Nicolas Pepe, Lucas Torreira, Kieran Tierney and Sokratis but after his team selection against Norwich City, the team could be anything.

  1. Not just a must win game for Freddie but a must win game for us to avert entering into a relegation battle before Christmas.
