Arsenal are aiming to extend their winning run to 5 when they take on Marco Silva’s Everton side today at the Emirates. The Gunners have come a long way since losing their first two games under Unai Emery and we could move into joint 5th in the Premier League if we get another three points, and it is looking very likely to me against a team that lost to West Ham last week.
Emery thinks that Everton may fight back like a wounded animal today. He said: “They didn’t win that important match [against West Ham] but maybe this is why they can be more dangerous to us because they come here and need to show their supporters that they are better than the last match. They lost against West Ham and they want to show us, to show their supporters, that they can win here. We need to think about our performance and work hard with respect to Everton, knowing that they have good players and good tactics. We need to impose ourselves on the game.”
Our defence may still be rubbish but at least we are scoring well to keep winning. This is our last 5 results….
We are certainly seeing entertaining games, with our goal difference at 14-9 in those matches so we hope to see many more today. Everton, likewise, have been involved in plenty of goals in their last 5 too….
That is a GD of 9-8 so between us we have an average of 4 goals per game. Is it going to be another highscoring game today? I think it will…
For the team news, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Sead Kolasinac and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are still missing for us, but the Brazilian Charlison is back for Everton after suspension but are missing Phil Jagielka and Seamus Coleman from their back line.
Here is my predicted Arsenal line-up as discussed in a previous post….
Bellerin – Mustafi – Sokratis – Monreal
Ramsey – Guendouzi – Iwobi
Ozil – Lacazette – Aubameyang
So as both us and Everton both have rubbish defences but lively attacking options, I am going to put my neck out and predict a 5-2 win for Arsenal.
What do you think?
