Arsenal v Huddersfield Preview, Team News, Line-Up and Score Prediction

Arsenal may have lost their first 2 Premier League games this season, but since then they have remained unbeaten and are now challenging for a place in the Top Four.

But poor Huddersfield are languishing just one point above the bottom, and have managed just 2 wins and 4 draws from their 15 League games, so let us start by looking at their away games this season…..

At least they have won one game away from home, so they are capable of pulling off a surprise performance but obviously not very often as we can see.

We can contrast that with Arsenal’s home form in this campaign…

But Unai Emery is very aware that we mustn’t get complacent if we are to keep up with the Leaders in the table, and looking at that form that is very unlikely in my eyes. Emery likes to make changes and keep our players on their toes, and today I am expecting to see some forced AND unforced changes, and a different approach to the teams that played the Spuds and Man United.

For starters I think we will be playing with a back four after Rob Holding’s awful injury in midweek, but I think Koscielny may get a short cameo to ease him back into the side when we have a healthy lead.  Monreal and Ramsey are both still doubts, and it will be interesting to see if Mesut Ozil has recovered from his backache or not. The way the injuries keep piling up we are going to need all hands on deck in this congested period.

So here is the team I am predicting today….
Leno
Bellerin  Sokratis  Mustafi  Kolasinac
Xhaka Torreira
Mhkitaryan Iwobi Aubameyang
Lacazette

This is very strong team and I have no doubt that we will finish off an excellent week’s work with a very facile win, I think 4-0 will be about right….

  1. I would love to see Auba get a brace or a hat trick.
A lead at half time, a healthy one at that for a change.
    6-1 to Arsenal

    1. I really appreciated Crouch’s words for Aubameyang. He is right, imagine if the prems golden boy Harry Kane, or Aguero had that record. They would be whispering sweet nothings up his asshole. Instead they spoke about seeing neither of AFC’s strikers competing for the golden boot with Kane, Salah and Aguero. He almost seemed upset that Auba was not getting the credit he deserved. He likes Lacazette too and that partnership they have. It’s good to see a fellow striker, come out and try to put pundits in their place.

      1. I also like Croucheys column on Saturday and his bright comments on Auba. But his taste in music needs a little working on I think. Always felt rather sorry for Crouch as he is clearly one of lifes good guys and has suffered unfair mockery for his height and his skinny frame. Viva diversity say I!.

  2. I hope Ozil is back, we need him and some others to regain fitness because without options we are gonna get more injuries. Holding’s injury I think could have been avoided, I don’t think he should’ve traveled to the Europa game. Physically he can manage, but when players are mentally tired, that is when they can fall awkwardly. Ramsey was on that flight too. Certainly, I believe it was a mistake by Emery, I read England’s top physio say as much yesterday, and I agreed with him. We do have the benefit of hindsight, but that away match was not as important as to take that risk. It was still just one of those things though, the injury. I can’t say that it wouldn’t have happened anyway, or that I’m one hundred percent certain, that it was mental tiredness which caused it.

    1. To ne honest with you, Ozil does not have a place to this current arsenal team unless you just like his big name. and i think will be a good thing to happen if he goes out this coming january transfer window, and the reason he is not playing they do not want to take a chance and have him injured like Welbeck they should sell him for cut price to intermilan of manu united and save his wage and bring in players line wesley, denis suarez, banega and pepe.

  3. when LACA, AUBA and the Tank on the flank play – then today’s opposition will know to resort to only one of their gears i.e. reverse. Really can’t see a draw at Old Trafford being followed up with any less than a convincing home win. 3 Arsenal Goals minimum today and i’ll stick my neck out to predict 3-0 or 4-0; Provided we keep Eleven on the field for the full 90, the emery magic continues

    1. W2W – ‘The Tank on the Flank’ – great meme! Sue’s new buzzwords! 🙂
Hope he plays, forgets last week’s mistake and delivers another good performance. I think Unai will play him as he had a word with the player afterwards and was eager to play down the mistake – and what better way to prove you have confidence in a player than to play him straight after a cockup?

  4. A potential banana skin which we must avoid to keep our momentum going.I do hope AMN is given a chance in a midfield three with Torr eria and Xhaka. If we stick with a back three ,if fit Monreal should step in for the unfortunate Holding who has my best wishes for an uncomplicated recovery. The young centre back has done so well this season but fate has conspired against him.

    1. When AMN is given a run of three games in his favoured CM position in the EPL none of our CM’s will be able to take that position away from him this season. Thus guy has so much quality and I’m hoping one day he and Kelechi Nwakali would be full starters.AMN is huge quality wasted on the bench and when he’s given his chance at CM he’ll prove this to everyone.

  5. @Break on through,I don’t blame the pundits ,even some arsenal fans do it appreciate auba goals they said it’s mostly tap ins,i wonder where will would have been without those “tap in”

  6. 3 points
    Clean sheet
    Impressive display

All I care about. Even the score dont matter as long as those 3 things occur

  7. Sadly as soon as xhaka is in creativity goes out of the window he gets in way of the French kid skies game down and front two lack any clear strategy

  8. We have to sell xhaka in the window and bolster rest of squad … the guy is utterly shite .. sell him Ramsey as minimum bring in some quality … this kind of game exposes the weaknesses we still have in the team
