Arsenal v Man City Preview, Line-up and Score Prediction

Manchester City make the trip down to the Emirates Stadium today to take on Arsenal with both sides relying on three points. Chelsea lost yesterday to give the chasing clubs hope in catching the runaway leaders, and the Citizens would close to within nine points with nine matches remaining with a win today. Arsenal need the points much the more however, having dropped down to a lowly sixth spot, and their hopes of a Champions League place will be very slim without a win.

The Gunners will be hoping history can give them the edge today, with our opponents only having won once away to us in the league in 45 years, but I would much prefer to have the better recent form coming into the match…

Our side come into the match with disastrous form, having won only once and lost four of our previous five league outings, although City have succumbed to draws in their last two, which may leave they a little bit short of confidence also.

The players will surely be fired up for this encounter, and big games like this should throw the form books out the window, but home advantage will go out the window without the fans onside, and an away opening goal could get the fans angered.

As for the team-sheets, we come into the game without Petr Cech, Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez who are all out with injuries. Gibbs may also be a doubt, but is expected to return to the bench.

City remain without Ilkay Gundogan and Gabriel Jesus who will likely miss the rest of the season, but they also have doubts over the fitness of Bacary Sagna and Kevin De Bruyne.

Predicted XI:

Bellerin  Koscielny  Mustafi  Monreal
Coquelin  Oxlade
Walcott        Ozil       Alexis

This match is a must-win, but confidence is a little low due to our lousy results of late. I’m not of the belief that Manchester City are playing all that well either though, and I can see this game ending in a draw. A 1-1 result seems likely, but if we do concede first, the fans will need to stay onside in order to help push the players into believing they can turn it around.

What are your predictions? Will the team being fired up for the match? Can the fans stay onside for this must-win match-up?

Thats the Q. not what score will it be …
lts which Arsenal will show up the sulky crybabies or the team that has us all following them through this crap.
l do think we will win today though 1-0 Ozil with the winner lol back to sleep now

I just want to see some changes, no matter what the result would be. What matters for me is the change of the team football foundation for the next season. Losing is okay as long as I can see the 2004 Arsenal’s quick and ruthless attacks one more time. That predicted starting eleven would produce predictable attack and result.

Arsenal: Ospina, Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Xhaka, Coquelin, Ozil, Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck.

Manchester City: Caballero, Clichy, Stones, Otamendi, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sane, Silva (c), Sterling, Navas, Aguero

      We’ve lost this ?

Its going to be a LONG 90+ minutes

And Home isnt exactly much of an Advantage for Arsenal either

And if we want any chance of losing in the first or second round of Champions League next season LOL, then we need to beat City

Must be a mistake, forgot to put Ramsey on the wing; you know it’s going to happen.

My prediction is a slow plodding attack with Giroud up top. He slows down the attack to a crawl and will allow a poor city defense time to get numbers back.

I’d prefer Sanchez up top, Walcott and welbeck or ox on the wings. We would have the pace to pressure them all over the pitch and pace for attacking if they play direct.

How about fans confidence? I think the big variable today will be the supporters. Up to the manager and players to get supporters fired up; not other way around.

Give us something to cheer for, rather than whine about lack of support for boring, slow, pointless sideways and back passes.

    Please? Pretty please?

We know, it is almost a certainty, we are going to give a few goals away. So my most optimistic hope is 2-2. I fear City will score more, but at least we haven’t included Ramsey, Iwobi and OX, who are the most clueless in defending.
