Arsenal v Spurs Confirmed Teams – Arteta plays – Ozil back on wing

All Arsenal fans just love beating Tottenham every year, and this should be no exception. Obviously Wenger had no interest at all in winning the League Cup which is why he made TEN changes from the easy Aston Villa win to rest our top players for this much-more-important clash.

But with our top players available and the defence only needing to worry about Adebayor or Soldado, then I really can’t see this being any less than a massacre in Arsenal’s favour….

Okay here is the starting line-up:

Szczesny,
Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs,
Wilshere, Arteta, Ramsey,
Chamberlain, Ozil,
Welbeck

Wenger has picked Arteta ahead of Flamini. He is least likely to pick up any cards, but we can also be happy that Mertesacker and Gibbs are now fit enough to make the team. I’m not sure about Ozil being pushed out to the wing again. It seems Wenger is determined to get him to play better out of position. And why is Sanchez back on the bench? Has Wenger decided that he can’t play with Ozil?

Well the stage is set, all we have to do now is watch the goals go in and go out and celebrate afterwards.

COME ON YOU GOONERS!!!!

    2. Hardest working player and maybe the best finisher in the squad on the bench, Wenger logic. Yes maybe we can win without him, but you always get the goals before resting players, especially when they are available to play.

      1. Wenger will destroy Sanchez… No good player should sign for arsenal till aw is there in charge.The guy who is the best player by mile and wants to train and do well is made to rest.
        Good players like to be dominating the league goal tallies.. Not satisfying someone’s egos.
        If he is being rested for midweek then AW is really dumb beyond repair.

  2. Wenger the enigma. Maybe Ozil appears on the flanks just on the sheet, meanwhile he may have been instructed to play in the middle.

    1. If he really is playing Ozil on the wing, he is stupid. Just because the critics got it right that he is better in the middle behind the striker, he now has to proove them wrong by trying to get something out of Ozil on the wing?

  5. Ozil on the wing again ?I hate it when Jack and Rambo play together ,they just get in2 each ohters way and 1 will play sh*t ,excited about Ox starting ,I’ve always felt he was 1 of our best players and Welbeck will score 1 today .3-1 to the Gunners COYG!!!!!!!

    1. Wenger is trying to bring bck the ramsey-wishere chemistry, since now both are fit. Dont underestimatr these 2 ppl. I believe that time one of the reason wenger let fabregas goes is these 2 ppl.They were immense together. Were. Remember well, they are future gunners. I believe one day they would become the backbone of arsenal.

  6. Looks like Wenger wants us to lose, trying to fix something that wasn’t broken with Ozil at number 10.

    Don’t be surprised if Andros Townsend plays like a world class player and humiliates Ozil.

    What is Wenger trying to prove?

  7. Lazy Chamberlain gets a starting spot where as the ever hardworking Sanchez is on the bench again for a second weekend running.

  8. I don’t know what is the deal with “his” Wilshere…!!
    We have always played better when he is on the bench…

    I just hope he will play better than he did against Southampton and Ozil finds his mark on the wing…
    Wenger is just doing thing the way he wants (well so far with not much success… No major trophies for how don’t know how long!).

    Where is Sanchez?
    I hope it is not injured!

  17. i thinks he plays 4-1-4-1 and ozil on the wing . because he sees that Santi is not fully fit and ready to start.. thats why he had to change the formation..

    wenger likes to play creative AM on the flanks ,, so if santi is not fit it has to be ozil..

    id prefer tho if he plays 4-2-3-1 ozil as no10 and alexis and the Ox on the flanks.. butt again alixis has played a full 90 min last tuesday

    His stubbornness, his stupid formation change, his persistence with jack and ramsey playing together and ozil wide…

    Reckon We’ll still beat tottenham but it aint going to be pretty.

  22. this is a must win game for all kinds of reasons…but wenger again experimenting with lack of clear direction as to what is our best formation…if it works then all to the good but it could easily go wrong again leaving us 7 adrift from chelski already and a point above man utd..a team in crisis!!! why the f*** is sanchez on the bench…saving him for the turks…surely the cheese eating surrender money cant be so stupid

  24. People complain about Wilshere and Ramsey playing together.. But you lot seem not to even have a clue.. Ramsey, Wilshere and Cazorla were all crucial in us winning the FA CUP and CHARITY SHIELD.. Go watch those games and see how those 3 players were so crucial…

  29. Arsene has the audacity to say that Ramsey is trying to do too much going forward, yet he is the one that’s playing him higher up the field asking him to do more.

    This lineup tells me that Arsene is thinking about Tuesday’s UCL game.

  30. Guys I think all the players will interchange, most of the time you see Ramsey, The Ox, Cazorla on the wings and Ozil in the middle, it’s is team team fluidity.. All of them interchange..

    1. Doesnt change the fact that ozil is a complete liability defensively on the wing and lacks the stamina to get up and down the pitch so is not involved in any counter attacks.

    Yes Ozil plays in 10 and Wilshere on the wing.
    I just hope they will interchange otherwise Townsend will have a field day with Wilshere as he never tracks back (and has no pace anyway).

    Losing this game is not even an option.

    1. I don’t mind Jack on the wing because he tracks back, would’ve preferred Sanchez though for his work rate, additional pace and goals. Maybe we’ll see him in the last 15 minutes or so.

  35. Sanchez being on the bench can only be a strategic decision (Even though Wenger is not a tactician), but I will assume he will introduce him for some pace and creativity.

    I just hope he is not thinking about the CL game already… That would be typical of the “deluded one”…!!

  37. wenger is a little bit weird, some of his decisions are just plain crazy.. Starts sanchez in the capital one cup which he does not fancy then put him on the bench today. Tell me that there is not something a little bit crazy about him.. anyways, hoping for a thrashing.

    1. Thats d mystery.. Why isn’t he playing. Same thing happened with Rosicky, finally played him in one game and he was out of touch. We scolded rosicky for his play!! Same thing happens with Cazorla..

  46. Wenger has to be drunk to put this lineup out. Who was drinking with him? And not a single defender on the bench at all. Call up Hayden at least its madness. Hopefully everything will come together though and we’ll get the 3 points. COYG

    So wengers first job in the next game is to move ozil back on the wing and put wilshire straight back into the team?

  79. Ozil not effective on the left. We are not penetrating the left side. Hopefully we can see a change on the left. Sacrifice one in middle. Move Ozil to middle and bring in Sanchez on right move Ox to left.
