Arsenal v Stoke Match Preview, Line-up & Score Prediction – Walkover?

Stoke make the daunting trip south to London to take on Arsenal today, and they have very little to be optimistic about.

The Potters last two trips to London saw Chelsea and Tottenham ship five goals each past them, and they will now be hoping to somehow come to the Emirates and end a losing streak of 15 consecutive away matches against us.

For me, today’s opponents have played the worst against any of the big sides so far this season, and I am thoroughly expecting our boys to run riot against Paul Lambert’s side.

Arsenal come into the match with a near-full squad available to feature, with Santi Cazorla the only player out of squad contention. Jack Wilshere and Alexandre Lacazette are expected to make the bench, and I would expect Wenger to give the latter a short run-out in hope it will help him to make the team for Thursday night’s Europa League team.

Predicted XI:

Cech
Bellerin  Koscielny  Mustafi  Monreal
Xhaka  Ramsey
Iwobi  Ozil  Mkhitaryan
Aubameyang

This team should have more than enough needed to win this match-up comfortably, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Wenger actually rest a player or two with Thursday in mind. We simply have to be prioritising the EL competition now in hope of following Manchester United’s route into the Champions League from last season.

Should this team play, I would firmly expect a walkover for our boys, and would happily bet on us to win by three or more clear goals, with 4-0 a modest shout for correct score.

This will likely be the type of game where Ozil is at his creative best, and I expect him to be involved in at least two of the goals. What are your predictions for the match?

  1. there is nothing like a walk over with this season’s arsenal. will not be surprised to see them concede a stupid penalty and make things very tough. hoping for a win though.

  2. Kos needs a rest.
    Cech
    Bellerin Holding Mustafi Monreal
    Xhaka Elneni

  3. Best outcome is that our likely victory helps get rid of ugly Stoke, at last , from the Prem. GOOD RIDDANCE CLOGGERS! Yes, especially YOU, Shawcross! And don’t come back, which you won’t!
