Arsenal v Vorskla Preview, Team News, Line-up and Score Prediction

So Arsenal’s journey to the Europa League Final begins tonight against the minnows Vorskla from Poltava in the outer regions of the Ukraine. The club finished third in their national Premier League which matches their best ever position, and this is also the second time they have reached the Group Stages of the Europa League, gaining only 2 points from their 6 games. They would probably have earned more from winning a jackpot on 666 Casino but at least they have gained a bit of European experience!

On present form, Vorskla are currently 5th in the League and here are their last 6 results….

So although they are not cannon fodder in the Ukraine, this still looks like a pushover for Arsenal and no matter what Unai Emery says, I am sure he will make wholesale changes to the starting line-up.

The coach has already admitted that Bernd Leno will get his debut tonight. He said: “Yes, Bernd Leno is going to play tomorrow. In our planning with our goalkeeper we have spoken with Javi Garcia, the goalkeeping coach. We need with Leno to give him a chance and the minutes of the game.”

With Everton coming up on Sunday, there is no need for our top players to exert themselves and Emery can give our reserves the chance to impress the boss. Stephan Lichtsteiner did the press conference with the boss and is certain to start in defence and I am expecting Holding, Mavropanos and perhaps Osei-Tutu will get a chance as Kolasinac and Maitland-Niles are still out injured.

Our midfield must surely have Elneny in there and will Emery give Torreira his first start as well, although he could be replaced when we have got a good lead. My favourite youngster to make up the midfield would be Smith-Rowe after his pre-season successes.

Up front Welbeck must play. Willock deserves time to find his form and I want Nketiah as centre-forward. This is the perfect game for him to prove his goalpoaching abilities.

So here is my predicted line up…..

Lichtsteiner – Mavropanos – Holding – Osei-Tutu
Elneny – Torreira – Smith-Rowe
Willock- Nketiah – Welbeck

That line-up should easily get 4 or 5 against Vorskla, and we need to see whether our reserve defenders can get a clean sheet, unlike their seniors….

My prediction 5-0 to the Gunners

What do you think?

Lol I don’t agree with that though, don’t let over confidence kill you, don’t start seeing them as push overs.. For all we know, they’re underdogs and Welbeck will be leading the attack, Bloody Welbeck😂😂.. He can score 2 goals and miss 10 sitters.. I hope Nketiah plays honestly and I’d like to see if Iwobi would pick the form he had against Chelsea… I stand to be corrected, is he still out injured?

It won’t be that easy, it never is. If we use to many reserves we could have a shock on our hands, there needs to be first teamers on the bench, just in case things don’t pan out.

Mavropanos is apparently injured so we are likely to be saddled with Mustafi yet again.I expect Mik, Owobi and Welbeck to play and I suspect we will win by one or two goals.I hope I’m wrong but I cannot see us keeping a clean sheet.

Wow! your selection for the backline is very okay, same as the mid field.

But upfront, It will be better this way:

    Milky Welbeck Iwobi

that’s quite better for a greater success. The Lads can be introduced at 2nd half of game.

just a win and a clean sheet… too much bench warmers can be blood on the dance floor.

    SL, mavro, Mustafi, Monreal
    LT, Elneny
    iwobi , mikki, welb.

I like your line-up, but I’d prefer to arrange the attackers like this, because Welbeck is taller and has more experience than Nketiah:

      Iwobi . Mkhitrayan . Nketiah

I also predict that Emery would use some old defenders to accompany the young ones. Hoping for a goal galore

When was the last time we got 5 goals with our first team players? Don’t expect a goal rush, just a regulation win without injuries would do.

  6. Declan

No way he will make that many changes in my opinion. I think Leno will play in goal but the only change to the back four will be Lichtsteiner in for Bellerin. I think Torreira and Smith-Rowe will also come in and possibly Iwobi and Welbz. We will soon see.

No, I don’t believe Emery will go with such an inexperienced line up. Nor should he. He is not Wenger, thank God.
