Arsenal waiting for big offer for Ramsey – From Barcelona?

The end of the European transfer window is getting closer every day, and there is still no resolution to the Aaron Ramsey contract saga with Arsenal seemingly unwilling to match the wage demands of the Welshman, according to report in the Star this morning.

They reported: Barcelona have been linked with a move for Ramsey and will undoubtedly be closely watching developments at the Emirates.

Emery is reportedly under pressure to reduce Arsenal’s wage bill, which runs at a record high of more than £200m.

With the emergence of Matteo Guendouzi in the Gunners’ opening games of the season, the Spaniard could be tempted to cash in on Ramsey should a big offer come in.

If this report is true then it looks like Arsenal have given up trying to get Ramsey to accept their final offer, and have resigned themselves to either a sale or allowing him to run down his contract.

This could result in either him leaving on a free next summer, or Arsenal finding a buyer in January if he is to move to another EPL side.

I really don’t see Barcelona, or any other really big European side coming in in the next week, so I am now expecting a January move. What do you think?

  1. I predict there would be no good offer for him in January and Arsenal would choose to release him at the end of this season

Arsenal should have cashed him out in the last transfer window. I’m sure there would be plenty of interests if they offered him at a very low price

Whoever is handling the transfers at Arsenal does not do his/ their job properly. They repeated the same mistakes they made with Sanchez, Ozil, Welbeck, etc

  2. Best the board don’t repeat the same mistake with Ramsey as they made with Ozil and award him a ridiculous contract that is not consistent with his capabilities. Ramsey owes this club everything, not the other way round. Wenger singlehandedly built his career at the expense of the team’s progress balance and well-being. As the ingrate thankfully wants to leave I say GOOD RIDDANCE! Far too many times promising counter attacks have depressingly ended at the incompetent and indecisive feet of Ramsey and I for one will be thrilled if he leaves. We don’t need his average likes at the club may he be swiftly followed out by Jenkinson, Xhaka, Welbeck, El Neny and Bellerin. Please Ramsey don’t sign that contract, LEAVE!

    1. Ramsey has apparently taken issue with Emery not starting him against Chelsea. Emery’s comment was that he was displeased with his performance against Man City. Another issue maybe Ramsey’s reluctance to sign the new contract. Other players have supposedly supported Ramsey, so he is already causing problems when he can’t get his way.
Hopefully this is the start of Emery starting players related to form and the ability to play the style Emery requires. Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher had an interesting discussion where Neville said that Emery has to perservere and transfer players out who can’t play his system, which all top clubs have adopted. It will take time, but he will lose the dressing room if he chops and changes.

  3. Iwobi and Ozil are not ninety minutes player……..like most of our players. Emery have plenty work to do,first of all “fitness”and our players energy level are very low.It could be worst season ever but be patient.

    1. I thought the issue here was Ramsey ? not Iwobi and Ozil, but on the Ramsey thing I say get rid now or in January and take whatever you can get for him,He’s not going to be missed that much and we have better players coming through, his thoughts are away from this club and how he has the nerve to demand similar wages as that greedy lazy sulky hugely overpaid Ozil is staggering to say the least.

  4. But the truth is, Ramsey has a point in wanting better wages. If Ozil gets £350k a week, then Ramsey deserves atleast £250k a week. Or do you want to say Ozil is 3 times the player Ramsey is? Personally, I would rather we play Ramsey in the big games than Ozil. How many times has Ramsey bailed us out in the past with his goal scoring prowess. I can count like 2 times Ramsey has single handedly won us our most recent FA cups. And am not saying he is world class, but he must be really gutted to have a player like Oz get 3 times his wages.

    1. Yes, I bet Ramsey’s and Ozil’s feelings are currently the same as these two lab monkeys:

      youtube.com/watch?v=meiU6TxysCg

Hillarious experiment that can describe the other Arsenal players’ feelings towards Ozil’s obscene salary

    2. Yeah, cos ozil earns an amount that isn’t deserved, we should decide to waste more money paying Ramsey close to that, right?
We could as offer welbeck, elneny, cech, bellerin and iwobi contracts close to #200k then

  5. let him go,
Torreira – Guendouzi are our present and future.
add Smith rowe to it and our CM is sorted.

  6. Ramsay, Cech, Monreal will leave on a free transfer

they will get more money and the choice to decide which club to go to

    1. We probably need him for the moment but a long term deal and too higher wages are not conducive to our current financial status

  7. We should dump Ramsey into the European and Carabao cup squads. And that’s only to keep him fit if we needed him as cover. When will these players realise the money they demand is on a different planet to the average fans wages.I accept their careers are over mid-thirties but are they not earning enough already? If an offer does come in then just take the best offer we can get for him and get him out of the Club?

  8. Ramsay is a very good attacking player who will attract a lot of interest if he is put on the transfer list. The same cannot be said for the likes of Mustafi, Xhaka and Ozil who have little in the way of resale value. The sale of these three will i suspect become a priority for Emery as he tries to repair the damage done latterly by Wenger .

    1. Spot on ! Yet there are those on here who think we should all move on from even mentioning WENGER, DESPITE ALL THE HARM HIS OVERPAID AND SILLY CONTRACTED JOKE PLAYERS ARE STLL DOING TO OUR CLUB. Emery’s short term prospects are being directly harmed by WENGER. I remind some on here that I wanted him sacked as long ago as 2008. But in his own arrogant words, “Our fans have NEVER managed, not even for 24 hours , so what do they know about football”. Nuff said! QED!

  9. Greedy overhyped Diva can leave right now quite frankly. Acting as if he is guaranteed a starting place regardless of form. Sound familiar?

I’d banish him to U-23’s if he’s still here when window closes. Probably wants to leave on a free to increase wages and signing bonus.

Can’t believe Emery or anyone could consider this selfish greedy t##t captain material. Shocking

  10. Is there anyone on here who STILL thinks Ramsey deserves a new contract and pay rise? In case there is, I must tell you there is professional mental help available. They are called psychiatrists!

      1. A replacement for the great Andres Iniesta. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. Oh! my stomach beginning to hurt.

  11. Kenny, too bad Arsenal missed out on the swap of the century ( and I mean the last 100 years, not 18 years) Ramsey for Iniesta!

    1. Ozziegunner, Just the thought of him playing at the Emirates. Even at a young 34 years old he’d of been perfect for us.
