Arsenal were NEVER in the title race this season!

For Wenger to speak about the Premier League title at this point is just evidence of how disconnected he is from reality. He never was in the PL race this season. Not even before the season started.

He had a poor transfer window electing to keep two players who don’t want to play for us. As a result, he destroyed large sums of money and didn’t replace them. Surprise surprise Sanchez is not the 30 goal player he was last season and Ozil only recently started to put in a few decent shifts.

There is no doubt Sanchez and Ozil are world class but not even world class players can be world class if they are unhappy where they are at. No one can be surprised Sanchez and Ozil are not at their best. Only a fool would refer to a contract. We are dealing with football players, not lawyers.

We still have the mental weakness that makes us throw big games away for short periods of time. We simply cannot show up for 90 minutes every game, and against Man United we didn’t show up till after the game was over. The effort afterwards turned out to be cosmetic only, even if it looked exciting it was not effective.

We have a weak defense and an odd and unconvincing midfield. (I think it is time to start planning for life after Xhaka because he will not rule a midfield like a Vidic or Kante – he is utterly unconvincing to me).

As long as Wenger is around we will fail spectacularly. When is the last time we assassinated a big team inside 14 minutes? We can only do that against small teams, and then only rarely.

Was there really any Arsenal fan who was naive enough to think after going behind 2-0 against a Mourinho team that we would come back and win? Is there really any real Arsenal fan who thinks we are in the PL title race? I am sorry but to me being a fan means being realistic and knowing your team and manager and this team and manager are not PL title material.

Nothing Changed

  1. Contrary to Admin’s view, Ozil has been playing really well in the last few games. He was both industrious and creative against Man U. Sachez was not at his best on Saturday, but he always tries. And yes I did think we might stage a comeback after the disastrous start. If it had not been for De Gea’ performance and for the referee’s reluctance to award a couple of justified penalties, we might have got something out of the game.

    1. i agree we played well
but people have just assumed united would have played the same if the two mistake had not given them a cushion.

we would not have had 75 possession and 33 attempts etc
all those de gea talk is null and void..cos they would have played different and we weren’t clinical , simple as- ok his double save was jaw dropping but rest was very good-no excuse for 1 goal from all that

that rojo foul for penalty tho-wtf ref!!

an yes said a million times wenger here means we will never be in the title race

  2. We will never win the league again, and never win the CL (if we even qualify again that is) under Wenger’s management, because we cannot defend!

Liverpool put four past us, and it easily should have been a lot more. Leicester scored three at the Emirates, and maybe could have got one, or two more. City should have scored more than three. Cech had to pull off a WC save to deny Lindgard one-on-one, so Utd could have easily got four. Only last season Bayern put 10 past us, in just two games…10!! And so on, and so on…

The likes of Koscielny, Mustafi, Mertesacker, Kolasinac, are far superior than the likes of Senderos, Djourou, Squillaci, Silveste, Santos, and yet we still look as bad now defensively, as we did back then. Maybe even worse, seeing as we’re losing more games, and the fact we now have better quality defenders. We’ve had the same guy managing ALL of these players, so what does that tell us? Clearly it isn’t the fault of our defenders!

  3. Is just one person blocking our capacity
    Arsene Wenger
Sack him. He claims he created Arsenal so nobody can sack him

  4. There has been a change in mentality since the Dortmund and Barcelona guys came in. Wenger has always skimped on defence, and the Manure game showed how important it is, yet again. Everyone is having a go at Kos, but I think he played the best he could. We have to realise he is well into his thirties, playing with a permanent Achilles injury, he simply is not up to playing 3 games a week, but being the sort of guy he is, he is not going to turn around and say he can’t give his best for a major game. He needs to be managed, and not make the decisions for himself. Let’s hope that defence comes into focus, something Bouldy hasn’t been able to achieve.

  5. I disagree. As long as we would have been consistent both away and home we would have been in and around city. But we let ourselves down here. The title of this article should be ” ARSENAL WOULD NEVER ALLOW THEMSELVES TO BE IN THE TITLE RACE THIS SEASON ”
