Arsenal youngster who is yet to met his potential up for sale

Arsenal are ready to sell Reiss Nelson this summer, despite the fact that he is yet to meet his full potential.

The 22 year-old enjoyed a mixed campaign on loan with Dutch side Feyernoord last term, helping them to reach the the final of the Europa League as well settle for a third-placed finish in their respective league division.

While it took the young midfielder a while to earn a regular starting berth, he ended the campaign as a regular started, including starting in each of the their knockout rounds as they went onto lose out to Roma in their bid to lift a European trophy.

With just a year remaining on his contract, Arsenal are now said to be looking to sell, as opposed to considering extending his current playing deal or looking to loan him out yet again.

Frustratingly, Nelson’s best form came just before he suffered yet another injury, whilst his best position seemed to remain unknown in recent seasons. While he has impressed in an AM and wider role, he never had enough first-team minutes in the first-team to showcase his true talents, and now it looks like his time in north London will be coming to an end.

Does anyone believe Nelson should be given more time to showcase his talents?

  1. Pls, Arsenal shouldn’t sale Nelson 😭… I advice that they extend his contract and send him out on loan as my gut keeps tellin’ me that he will still shine.

    1. He gradually gor better and was in the team that played UEL, where arsenal was not… For me there is no need to sell hom for peanuts. Extend and send him back there. It tool him 6 months to start playing for feyenoord. He can improve. What if we sell him now and he explode this year there ?!

  2. Can’t afford to wait forever for all academy graduates to meet their full potential. Reiss Nelson has been given ample opportunities to impress at first team level, but never lived up to his potential, for whatever reasons. He is in effect now blocking the conveyor belt of younger players behind him. Goodbye, Reiss Neilson.

If anyone is blocking the “conveyor belt” of young players, it’s the new signings, as well as handing contract extensions to the older ones. Not to mention, the coaches inability to integrate academy players into the first squad. But hey, never let logic rumple your rant…IJS

    2. Agree with you on that. He should be move on alongside amn, bellerin, torreira, xhaka, Leno.

  3. You are absolutely right!! There are NONE senior player from the academy right now!!

    Your LOGIC is world class!!

  4. Extend him one year, and aend him back to feyenoord, now that he has established himself and see what happens. Arsenal can decide in january. Either he keeps improving there (see that he started the season not playing and ended up being a 1st option, regular 1st team) or we can definitely sell him. For me there is a doubt because he played well the last months of the season. So doubt makes the couple thin millions we could get hurrying in a sale now not worthy
