Hector Bellerin is set to open new talks with Arsenal after the international break, with a significant pay-rise set to be included. The 21 year-old has been hugely impressive since breaking through into the first-team in 2014 thanks to an injury to Mathieu Debuchy, and has not looked back since.
Bellerin has since emerged as one of the best right-backs in England, earning his rightful place in last season’s Premier League Team of the Year, and was rewarded with a call-up to Spain’s international squad for the summer’s European Championships also.
The young full-back is now being linked with a return to Barcelona, having left them to join the Gunners as a 16 year-old, whilst Manchester City are also claimed to hold an interest in his signature.
He is now set to be rewarded with a new long-term deal in order to fend off any potential suitors, with a bumper five-year contract set to be negotiated in the coming weeks.
The right-back is on a mediocre wage in comparison to his squad status within our side, and that will most certainly be set to change somewhat, while assurances will also be made to the defender on the club’s future investment within the side.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are also believed to be in line for contract talks, with the duo now into their final two years of their current deals. Sanchez’s recent switch to centre-forward may have helped in excite the Chilean to a new challenge, and he seems to be relishing in the switch, growing into the role by the day.
Ozil on the other hand has continually admitted to being happy at the Emirates, and proceedings should progress without fault with the German superstar.
