Arsenal’s brilliant right back on way to World’s best status?

It was all about the Bellerin on the Arsenal website today, after his Arsenal team mate Joel Campbell lavished praise on the young Spaniard who he has formed an off field friendship with as well as a good understanding on the pitch as they have been operating together up and down the right flank.

The Costa Rican’s native language is Spanish and that helped him and Bellerin connect when Campbell finally got the work permit to allow him to finally come to England and play for Arsenal. And the forward told Arsenal Player that as well as helping them to become friends, the language connection has helped them to form a good working relationship in the first team, with good communication between the two helping both players to perform.

Campbell also went on to talk about how good his Spanish pal and colleague is becoming. He has certainly taken the Premier League by storm since being called on by Arsene Wenger when injury problems to Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers gave us a mini crisis. Debuchy might not agree but that turned out to be a stroke of luck for the club as it allowed Bellerin to flourish and become one of the best in the country. But Campbell thinks there is still a lot more to come from the Spaniard.

He said, “We speak the same language, so it is much easier to communicate with each other.

“We enjoy a very good relationship on and off the pitch. That helps us a lot when we are playing, by speaking with each other, helping each other and giving indications to give our best to the team.

“He is enjoying a very high level, but I think he can give even more. He has the potential to be one of the best in the world.

“He is showing that now, but he is still very young and he has a long way ahead. So I think the best of Hector is yet to come, we haven’t seen it yet.”

You could say that the attacking side of Bellerin’s game is better than the defending side but that is something that improves with time and the best defenders do not hit their prime until later in their careers and he is still just 20-years old. So is Campbell right and is Bellerin heading to the very top?
