Arsenal’s main man Alexis keen to develop further in England

Arsenal’s stand-out star of the current campaign Alexis Sanchez revealed how he is developing more as a person by learning the English language.

The Chilean has been tried out in a new system this term including him as the centre-forward, and the team has relished the fresh approach firing themselves to within six points of the top of the table.

This week our superstar gave his first ever interview fully in English this week, and he has now revealed how he come to learn the language in his 30 months with Arsenal.

“At the beginning I took lessons for two hours a day,” Alexis said. “Then I had to make use of what I learnt so I could communicate with my team-mates and the manager. I truly like the English language. Learning it helps me grow as an individual.

“My team-mates in general have helped me a lot. I have also learnt English in some other contexts, such as having a stroll in the street.

“People approach me, talk to me in English… my listening and my conversational English are improving a lot thanks to people.

“A few days ago I did a live interview in English for the first time in my life. I found it a bit difficult, but at the same time I felt comfortable too. I must keep on learning the language so I can develop as a person.”

Our new centre-forward star is showing in more than one way how he is truly settling in with our club, with his new found confidence in the language just another statement of intent.

He seems to be much happier in England, with his team-mates and is definitely showing he is relishing his role on the pitch, but we are still sweating over his contract…

Does this interview reassure you that he will extend his deal in the coming months?

  1. Regarding keeping Sanchez, I think the real question is can we compete with the likes of the Chinese for his signature when they are apparently offering eye watering amounts to the tune of £500k per week?
