Arsenal’s new Rising Stars – 4 Gabriel Martinelli (plus Videos)

The 18 year-old Gabriel Martinelli only joined Arsenal this summer just after his 18th birthday, from Ituano Futebal Clube of Brazil, but because of his age and his low price tag he wasn’t given the fanfare normally seen with new signings, but considering he had already scored 10 goals in 34 games for his club he was very highly regarded.

His arrival was attributed to us signing Edu as one of the clubs talent-spotters, but having seen such Brazilians arrive before, like Wellington, a lot of fans were very skeptical. There was talking of him initially going out on loan, but the youngster was so impressive in pre-season Emery decided to keep him and was given a squad number of 35. You couldn’t have seen a better debut from him as he scored twice against Nottingham Forest, and then repeated the feat again in the Europa League game against Standard Liege.

He has been as impressive as Pepe and Ceballos since his arrival in my eyes and could prove to be the bargain of the summer signings. So for this one I am going to show two videos, one showing his amazing skills since he joined Arsenal, and a second one showing why Arsenal bought him from Ituano in the first place….

Enjoy!
