Arsenal’s worst fears confirmed about Bellerin and Mislintat

Although Arsenal managed a fantastic win against Chelsea this weekend, It has not been all brightness and light after Hector Bellerin was stretchered off and the BBC has now confirmed that the injury is extremely serious and he will miss the rest of the season.

They reported….

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin will miss the rest of the season after scans confirmed he has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

The Spain right-back, 23, was carried off on a stretcher in the 72nd minute of Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Bellerin is expected to be out for between six and nine months.

So we have yet another season-ending injury after Danny Welbeck and Rob Holding, and our squad is looking thinner that ever, and despite losing two defenders and a striker, it looks like we are concentrating on just bringing in one midfielder in January! How does that make sense?

But one person who will not be finding us uncut gems in the next transfer window is our scouting guru Sven Mislintat, as it has now been confirmed by Arsenal themselves that the German will be leaving us in a couple of weeks. They announced on Arsenal.com

Sven has been with us since December 1, 2017 and has done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future.

We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal.

Sven said: “It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change. I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”

This is a big blow to Arsenal’s future as he has already had a massive impact on our arriving players in the short time he has been at the Emirates. Obviously there have been rumours about a rift with Raul Sanllehi and Emery, but I am not sure that anyone knows the truth just yet, so we will just have to wait and see.

Whatever reason, it is yet another bit of bad news for Arsenal fans…

  1. Arsenal FC is downgrading day by day. No one can work without money. Why teams like Southamton are behind us is because of Money only. This is Football and Club who can not spend has to limit expectation. We must accept that with Kronke at the helm, we at best can be competing with teams like Everton and Wes tham.
Our Club has become a Joke , buying is one thing. Can not even sell players. I am very very sad. Bellarin is out and we have to rely in Niles..

    1. Maybe they cannot buy expensive players in January, but I think there could be big signings in the next transfer window

Bellerin was doing a good job, but I believe Maitland-Niles could do more if he starts more often. The pressure is also on Jenkinson, so I hope there would be a great competition between them

      1. gotanidea, I hope you are right, but with Chelsea and Tottenham quite likely to drop points and Manchester United still to prove themselves against the top sides, there is still an opportunity to get a Champions League place through the top 4 or Europa League. This would give Arsenal an additional £50 million for the summer transfer window.
Sunny, unfortunately your comparison with Southampton is apt. If you look at the players Southampton have had to sell over the last 10 years, if they had managed to retain them, they would at least have made top 4, if not win the EPL.
Also players today are not like Matthew Le Tissier, a great Southampton player who I would loved to have seen play for Arsenal.
He stayed at Southampton despite many high offers to change clubs. The concern with Arsenal is, that without further investment in players, Arsenal’s top players such as Lacazette, Aubameyang and Torreira will look elsewhere and even if they bring transfer fees, they still have to be replaced. Arsenal will be a feeder club and continually turn over players.

        1. Agree. Champions League is very important and Arsenal have to be in a better position by the end of this season, to keep their main players

          1. Man I can’t wait for us to get back into the UCL. Even though winning it would be in our dreams, I don’t believe this talk of this squad is not a top four team, that’s complete büllshit, the problem is the drive the players needs, we have a better squad than we did last season.

I’m just tired of Thursday night football.
If we do so through the top four, I’ll come out on here and apologize for changing my mind about Emery and his tactics halfway,
If we do so by winning the Europa league, I’ll come on here, still apologize and will back him to go for more and break the rules laid down for Arsenal Fc concerning trophies.
If we don’t, well, I’ll still be here and I’ll wait to see the kind of players we bring in, regardless of all this, I’m still behind the club like I have been even if I don’t believe he can do it.
            Fair enough??

  2. Think of Ramsey and Ozil’s situation, Makheterian earning 200K per week, Welbeck will be free end of season. Monerial will be free.
How much money we would have earned ? If spend properly then then we could buy good players

  3. Feel sorry for Bellerin, with Arsenal not going to replace him this window, I think is time for Emery look into those kids, or maybe Jekinson stepping up his game.
Except for AMN, the guy is just an overrated English man, very clueless, can’t make a good pass.

    1. But Maitland-Niles impressed when playing as an LWB and a DM

He has good runs, speed and stamina like Chamberlain, which are needed to make break the deadlock

  4. We like are a rudderless ship.

Losing Mislintat is a massive blow not be underestimated. In football, it is all about talent and if you don’t have the money to compete you have to attract the talent to spot “cheap” gems like Guendouzie and `Torreira and try to avoid mistakes like Xhaka and Mustafi. This the difference between top 4 and 6th or 7th.

It is a joke we continue to lose players for nothing.

It is a joke we can’t bring our on loan players back when we desperately need them. Chambers could be so valuable right now and is playing solid football at Fulham. We could also use the wide threat of Nelson. Yet we can’t afford to bring these players back. Poor contract negotiations IMO.

I was fine with our season thus far and always knew we had to be patient with the new manager but some of that patient was because I thought we had a good management team in place and I was looking forward who Mislintat would bring in over the summer when we have a larger budget.
I thought we had a long term vision to rebuild and Sven was the man who was going to be crucial in the process. Now he will be off to Bayern.

We are still in shambles. Gazidas signs Ozil to a ridiculous contract before he leaves to Milan and then blocks Milan from signing him when they are interested. That should tell you all you need to know about Gazidas.

  5. Aye, I’m tired, I feel bad for him.. I Suppose we’ll see Bellerin play again during the Nov-Dec period, without set backs, and it’s only Jan right now
The thought of it is sickening.

Well concerning Sven, the club has confirmed it, I don’t wanna keep thinking about the what if and what would’ve been.
Lots of Rumors has been about the rift and how the transfer policy doesn’t suit him.
I think we’ve all gone through this path for years but never realized it. With Wenger, that list of players Arsenal could’ve signed under Wenger now makes me wonder if Wenger was the problem with our transfers or the club, Wenger might’ve made a few wrong signings but what if the club had backed him and given him extra funds that was needed to sign a youngster back then? A youngster now world class. Same way Sven pointed out a few targets with young age but the club couldn’t get em

    1. Eddie, unfortunately until Arsene Wenger writes his book, we won’t know his side of the story. I have always been concerned that Wenger was too much a “company man” after David Dein left, by not telling the true story about the board’s lack of support to him in the transfer market. How many times did Arsenal miss out on a player for what appeared to be a minor extra amount of money? The list of players, Wenger has identified that he should have signed is legendary. The argument always was that Arsenal’s valuation was less than what the player ultimately went for.
Unai Emery has already put the spotlight on the board by telling us there is only money for loans, not transfers this window.

      1. Bellerin has improved this season only for him to do his ACL; I am very sorry both for him and the team.

  6. Niles and Jenkinson must deputise under no circumstance should Lichtsteiner play another game! We clearly aren’t signing anyone so we must do with what we have! Also hear Monaco is beating us in the race for Gelson Martins bloody Monaco fighting relegation is more of an attraction! Whats going on.

    1. I keep seeing a lot of stuff being said about Suarez being close & tweeting Deulefeu about playing for us blah blah blah.. not sure if it’ll happen other than that there’s sod all happening! Monaco need all the help they can get! Henry had a little meltdown the other day & called one of the opposition’s grandmother a wh *re! As they lost 5-1!!
Gervinho scored a goal the other day.. some old boy on Twitter said that the defence parted just like his hairline ??? brilliant!!

      1. Who does forehead play for now ? i thought he retired haha. Yeah I think Henry should stick to punditry he’s a bit out of his depth as a manager much prefer Vieira ? that guy who played for Everton Sue? Not for me I’d rather have Gelson, Iwobi isn’t enough to get through rest of the season. I just hope we get no more injuries it’s getting ridiculous now

        1. He plays for Parma… he’s still going strong & his forehead ?
He’s always got the car adverts to fall back on! I do love seeing them when the football’s on, especially when he says there’s always next week ? better than hearing him say your grandmother’s a wh*re ??
          Yes that guy from Everton..
Sh*t it’s just popped up on my phone saying that Cardiff’s new signing Sala might have been on that missing plane near the channel islands… now can you see why I don’t like it?!!!

              1. Well that ain’t happening then! Suarez is the only likely deal I got no insider information but I’m confident we won’t get anyone apart from Suarez ? haha only if I get a present like the old days ?

                    1. I knew it would!! No I didn’t ?? was gutted….I’m not going back, so will go to Iceland instead for that (& the whales!)

                    2. ? I’d see the northern lights before Santa ? that would be an experience Sue ? similar to cage diving in South Africa for great whites ?

                    3. Haha well you could always just watch Jaws that way you save money, stay on the ground and stay dry win win ?

                    1. A little bit Sue I can handle anything but I can’t handle a cough it does my head in! But thank you a win on Friday will make me feel miles better and a new phone gonna fling this piece of Cr*p out the window!

          1. Jesus yeah I’ve seen that! He could possibly be dead, imagine that 😮 but that’s one of those single engine Flying boats Sue.. a flock of birds hit them you’re a gonner much safer in a commercial airline ? yeah he must be losing it Sue maybe he should stick to the commercials ? him and DT are competing in the world’s biggest forehead competition in Bali in June ?

            1. Hmm I’ll take your word for it! I have to do a Mo Farah & kiss the ground every time.
Phew such a relief when I get off the plane ?
They’ll have to take Ant Mcpartlin along too then ??

              1. He’s hosting it Sue ? you can always take the euro tunnel Sue forget flying ? do you fancy Burton taking the 2nd leg with city into extra time ? They only have to win 9 you never know ?

                1. Hahahaha brilliant!!! That takes too long & it’s too hot on there! Can’t win I’m never satisfied ?
Well he’s going to put out a team of unknowns surely… they may nick a goal but that’s about your lot! They could always give us Sane before the window shuts.. ?

                  1. No not unless they invent a teleportation pod that might suit your needs Sue ? haha and get smashed 10-0 Burton pull off the impossible ? haha yeah city won’t be able to resist our big loan offer ?

  7. When was the last we sell a player for 100 million plus? I think we are the only team in the TOP 6 that has never done so

  8. As an aside Kroenke’s LA Rams has reached the Super Bowl after beating the New Orleans Saints 26-23.
The Rams benefitted from an extremely bad referee’s call (in the most over refereed game on the planet) late in the game, when a Ram’s player blatently used his helmet in “pass interference” to stop the Saint’s player from completing the catch.
Hopefully Kroenke’s luck with referee’s “selective blindness” passes over to Arsenal.

      1. John in the USA they play their own brand of “American Football” otherwise known as “Gridiron” (named due to the markings on the field). They also play a similar game in Canada; however most other countries have stuck with the Rugby Codes.
The competition in the USA is divided into two conferences; the National Football Conference and the American Football Conference. At the end of the season the winners each play off in the “Super Bowl” for the Vince Lombardi Trophy; they call it the “world championship” but no none else competes! However the game does have a world wide television following with high ratings and apparently the highest advertizing cost per minute in television.

        1. Oh right thanks for that Ozziegunner, I have no knowledge of American sports or how they operate ive heard of super bowl but just wasn’t sure so guessing it’s like a champions League final to them then ?

  9. Sad news on Bellerin who has improved under Emery.Big opportunity for AMN to prove he has the talent most of us think he has.As to the departure of Mislintat, sad to see him go .He has done well with very limited financial resources but he is not infallible as seen in the acquisition of Lichsteiner who is finished.Given our financial circumstances we cannot afford mistakes which cost £90k per week.

    1. Grandad, in defense of Lichtsteiner the injuries he suffered didn’t help and he still could come good.

  10. I believed in Sven much more then Unai. I though coaches/managers will come and go, but head of recruitment stays at the club and delivers new, not expensive but great players…
In this Mislintat is one of the best there is!
He is leaving the club after 14 months.
This is very very bad bad bad bad bad…
    …and who will replace Bellerin?
    Jenkinson?!

    p.s.
obviously spanish influence wins in Arsenal, and from my point of view I would rather have Mislintat

  11. Of course Sven Mislintat is going to leave without transfer funds. AMN is not quite ready to replace Bellerin and Lichtsteiner is not good enough. ‘Greedy Stan Kroenke’ will not put any real money into Arsenal. Arsenal are being called a ‘Portfolio’ club, which is when an owner has many clubs and has to dilute their funding pots. In the UK an owner can have just one club. Many have wanted to have more than one to invest in, including Usmanov. You just cannot do it in the UK. Greedy Stan has FIVE internationally. Not just football, but big clubs, and there is no focus on Arsenal. Our club is always second or less to the Greedy Man. We are a ‘Portfolio’ club to him. Maybe if Arsenal supporter Corbyn gets in one day he will start to change laws on ownership. Get Kroenke out or face mediocrity.
