Up next for Arsenal is a clash against Liverpool at Anfield, on Sunday 31 August, kick-off 16:30 UK.
Ahead of the game, concerns are already surfacing over how Arsenal’s line-up might shape up, with three of their best players, Kai Havertz, Martin Ødegaard and Bukayo Saka, facing injury doubts.
Still, despite those concerns, Arsenal’s smart summer recruitment means they now have options. There is no reason to fear they will struggle.
Brand new attack against Liverpool
That much is clear, with Gary Neville hinting at a strong attacking trio that Arteta can still field despite the injuries.
“For me, Eze is going to come in on that left-hand side. I think Gyökeres is going to play up front. I actually thought the minute that Saka went off and Madueke went to the right-hand side, I thought all of a sudden he looked at home,” Neville said on his Podcast.
That front three will surely remind supporters that last season Arsenal did not have these options at their disposal. We could now see a brand new attack unleashed at Anfield.
Madueke, Eze and Gyökeres ready to step up
Noni Madueke looked sharp against Leeds after a subpar showing at Old Trafford. He exerted more influence and showed glimpses of what he can offer. He is likely to feature on the right wing, stepping in for the injured Saka, the role he was signed to fill. If he impresses, it could prove a turning point.
As for Eberechi Eze, with his Premier League experience and technical ability, Gooners will expect a top performance. Madueke has already tipped him to do fantastically well.
Viktor Gyökeres, meanwhile, has two goals in two games. He looks ready to announce himself at Anfield. If he hits top form, few would bet against him being a difference-maker in this season’s title race.
So, is a Madueke-Gyökeres-Eze front three one Arteta can trust to get the job done against Virgil van Dijk and his Liverpool teammates?

If Odegaard is not fit to face Liverpool i would hope Eze would be his direct replacement as an AM.
Yes if this is the case I agree, and this could seriously put MO’s starting position under threat if Eze produces, which I think he will.
Well when Odergaard went of against Leeds we played a more expensive game and didn’t play everything though Odergaard. Within 10 minutes of him going off we quickly ( unusually) scored two goals in open play. It too predictable when Odergaard plays.

Cerainly Grandad. In fact I wouldn’t expect Eze in the left wing position even if Ødegaard is fit. He’s rarely played there, and it’s not as if we don’t have other options.
I really hope these injuries are not serious. We need our big players to be available for Liverpool.
As for Eze, I would think he would start off the bench this weekend, maybe a bit too early to start straight away. Although I suppose he is coming in straight from playing, in the PL as well so who knows.
Four weeks for Saka according to reports today. Odegaard should be fit in shorter time.

It should be an “interesting” game.
Having a brand-new attack doesn’t guarantee that it will necessarily be successful. Utd found that the initial promise of their new attackers against Arsenal wasn’t replicated at Fulham. It may take a while to get things working smoothly, although hopefully not.
Eze can play in Odergaard position if necessary. But we can also use Nwaneri
I have to say i did not think Nwaneri was very effective against Leeds and i very much doubt if he will start the match against Liverpool.Nwaneri is still a work in progress whereas Eze is the finished article imo.
Eze will play over Nwaneri.
I also think Eze will look for our strikers runs. He apparently made 14 runs off a defender against Leeds and not one pass too him.
Eze will not be reluctant to run at the defense and open it up for himself or another attacker who has become available in a dangerous position only because of Eze’s run. For whatever reason, Odegaard it seems has become more and more hesitant to do the same and Nwaneri still needs to remember to bring in his teammates. It seems he needs to realize more often that he’s no longer trying to dribble through 3 players who are below his level. Just my opinions of course.

Gyrokeres at striker, Madueke on RW, Martinelli on LW, (maybe Trossard start or come on as sub), and Eze in the midfield Odegaard role.
We saw the creativity when the game opened up, we played more centrally when Nwaneri came on. In fact, when Nwaneri (i think) lost the ball, Zubimendi recovered and passed to Timber, who then slid that pass to Saka for the goal.
Point being, it was all central, and would have never happened forcing everything out to the wings like we normally play.
Eze brings a central threat; goals and assists, something that has dipped in Odegaad’s game as of late.
👍 Odergaard can be replaced. Part of me hopes he doesn’t play.
It seems treacherous to admit this, but I was relieved when Ødegaard went off against Leeds.

Id rather use Eze as a10 for odgard,max for Sana and trosard with Gyokores upfront,,rice and Zubimend on eighter midfield,,
Martinelli on the right will certainly be better than Madueke. It’s even better than Saka on the right on big occassions- our 5 -1 spanking of Mancity last season came with Martinelli starting from the right.
